I wouldn't necessarily say he was the most miserable one from MXTX because tbh all of them suffered a lot in their own way. Think about it. Hua Cheng was an unloved child. When he was little nobody loved him, he even didn't had parents. Same as Luo Binghe. Luo Binghe's father was so selfish with him. Lan Zhan at least has his uncle and his brother who took care of him. But it is true that he didn't know what happened to WWX after he died, and that's so sad. I believe all of them really went through a lot :(

It's still unknown who will take Hua Cheng's role. I just mentioned Tao as one of the probabilities. Also, I do hope he is feeling better with the incident. As far as I know he has been doing much better. He has even been publish new songs. So that could be a good sign.

Hopefully we'll know the cast soon. If it is Luhan, or another actor is totally fine. I just want the main cast to have a good chemistry to be able to do the roles of Xie Lian and Hua Cheng. Although, if it was Luhan I would be very surprised and happy lol.

Most people that rate this drama low, I'm pretty sure is because the don't like BL or bromance relationships. But what I don’t understand is, why would they rate something they haven't even watch? Just to judge the relationship between the two male leads? That seems a bit discriminating tbh. I don’t think is right to judge male x male dramas, or Female x Female. People need to already get used to society tbh. Judging same sex relationships is like judging hetero relationships. They are both "Love" after all. Let's not judge because of sexuality or sexual attraction. That's just not good nor healthy.

Also, I wanted to mention that almost all bromance dramas in China come from BL novels. We have to remember where all these masterpiece really are. Yes, it is censored to close friendship, and people can view it that way if they want to. But we can't forget the fact that these stories are deeper than what they seem. Watching these type of dramas is like watching a drama where a female and a male are close friends but like each other deeper inside but they won't tell that to each other. The two male leads in this drama and in other Chinese bromance dramas have the same thing. They like each other a lot, but cannot tell that to each other because of restrictions. And this is what I call "Censorship."

Still waiting for the cast patiently here. Hope it comes out soon. I've been waiting for more than a year now. But if Hua Cheng waited for 800 years for Xie Lian, then I can wait a bit more :'D

Well, if anyone was disrespectful to you, then it was probably because they felt offended by your comment. As for me, I was just saying my opinion too. If I was disrespectful at any moment, then I apologize for that. I just don't see the point why you would like to comment hate here where you know people like these dramas. The way you stated "Ugh another The Untamed." It sounds very rude to compare two different stories. That's why people feel offended by it. Also this drama is new yeah, but it has a famous BL novel. Of course that many people know about it.

I think the point you don't understand is that some opinions should be kept to yourself. Yes, you are free to say whatever you want, and to have your own opinion. But you decided to share your opinion in the WRONG side. Like I said, most people here like this drama, what will you expect? Of course that they will come back at you too. In every community is the same. You should be aware of that. If you wanted to avoid all of this, you shouldn't have bad mouth a popular drama like that. If you really wanted to share your opinion, you could've done it with someone that would have agreed with you, not with people that will be against you. Like, what's the point?

If you really wanted to say your opinion, you could've elaborated a bit more about it. For example: Why don't you like it? And why you think of it that way. Talking bad about these dramas without even watching it or finishing them is just being very stubborn. From your profile picture, I can tell you like BTS a lot. Well, how would you feel if I commented hate comments about them in a community that is only about BTS? I bet you will start throwing hate at me and other people will help you too. Well is the same situation here. I wouldn't even bother to comment about them if I know the result of it. I really don't want to make any spoilers but all I can say is that you won't regret watching this masterpiece. The chemistry between the two male leads is very very close. About the female lead, you won't see her for too long, that's the only hint I can give you guys. I hope you guys enjoy it if you plan to watch it. :) Also prepare the tissues, is very touching too.

If you are just here to bring hate to these masterpieces the result you will get is hate back from others that support it. Idk why you have to comment these dumb things here. Sorry to disappoint you but this story has nothing to do with The Untamed. Yes, it is censored BL just like The Untamed, but is a totally different story. Please don't compare these two great stories to each other because each of them is unique and special. Also, if you plan watching it, I hope you enjoy it.

As far as I have heard, all costume dramas were supposed to come out in Q1 and early Q2 because the year will be packed with a lot of other genres like military and romance. So they wanted to divide it by putting the costume dramas first. So I believe it might come out soon.

I won't necessarily compare it to The Untamed since is a another awesome whole different story. However, I do agree that it will be a big hit. ^^ The Untamed has been successful since 2019 until now. When Heaven Official's Blessing comes out. I bet it will last for years too. :D

This Live Action will be big when it airs. I can already see it :)

I actually have a few in mind. However, I'll admit that the ones I think could work for this role are either Huang Zitao or Song Weilong. But to be honest, anything the director chooses is fine for me. I believe a lot in this amazing director.

Honestly, as far as I know, all of these things are just rumors. Nothing is really confirmed until they publish it officially. There's just too many people who auditioned for Xie Lian and Hua Cheng, we can't really know who will be chosen until they confirm it officially. We'll know soon. :)

In this comment, I will talk about a few actors that people have mentioned to be the main cast (Xie Lian and Hua Cheng) and I will say my own opinion about this respectfully. I also hope you can also respect my opinion about this by not criticizing my thoughts rudely. Let's respect each other's opinions, and let's be nice to each other. We are a family after all if we like this upcoming project. (TGCF's drama.)

Let's first mention Xie Lian:

Luhan: There's many people who want Luhan to be Xie Lian, and I totally agree with them. His looks are just perfect and his acting skills have totally improved over the years. It is sad that people still say that he is a bad actor. Stop seeing him like an exo ex-member from 2014 or 2016 who was still learning. Look at him now, in 2021, he has definitely the potential to do such a role. He is both a good singer and actor, and I believe he is my favorite one to be casted as Xie Lian. He has done many dramas where he was casted as main role, so he also has the experience of being a protagonist in a story just like Xie Lian. I believe he is a good option.

Song Jiyang: I heard of this one a lot, and I do agree that his personality and looks are just perfect for this role I wouldn't mind for him to be Xie Lian. He really is a good option. However, I do want to say that Song Jiyang is still a beginner in dramas. He is mostly known for just doing Support roles and is very unlikely for him to be chosen because of this. We have to remember that Xie Lian is the protagonist, and a role like this might be very complex for him. But I will also not forget the fact that Wang Yibo was a beginner as well in The Untamed, and he did extremely well in The Untamed as Lan Zhan. So, who knows? Song Jiyang might also have this good potential.

Hou Ming-Hao: I have watched a few of Hou Ming Hao's dramas and I do believe he is a very good actor. I also agree that his looks are very similars to Xie Lian's. About personality, I'm not sure. I don’t know him that well, and that's why I can't comment much about him. I'll just say that he might be a good choice, but he is just NOT my favorite in my opinion. But if he does get casted as Xie Lian, I will love him and support him more than I do now.

Darren Chen: I have heard some people that want him to be casted, and I do know why they want this. He has done similar projects that he had to be like Xie Lian in personality, and I do see him as a good choice too. However, for some reason, I don’t really agree with his looks though. He is very attractive and cute, but for some reason I don't think his looks are that close to Xie Lian's. Once again this is just my opinion. Many people might disagree with me. And that's fine. If he gets casted, same as Hou Ming Hao, I will support him and Love him.

(I wanted to mention Cheng Yi here as well, but I know that he has a very busy schedule with dramas, so this will probably be very unlikely to happen, but we can also still have hopes for him.)

Now, let's move on. I know I might have missed other actors, but I didn't mentioned them just because I don’t know much about them, or I just completely disagree with them to be casted. One example is Xiao Zhan. Trust me, I love Xiao Zhan, and I would love for him to be casted in another drama with Wang Yibo, but I think that he will not be casted again in another story of MXTX's. It is very unlikely for him to appear on this drama even if we have hopes. We can fantasize of course, but let's stick to reality. I don’t think the director will cast the same actors as The Untamed just because he knows it comes from the same author. Especially if they where the main cast.

Now we will talk about Hua Cheng:

Huang Zitao: The first person I would love to mention is Huang Zitao. I know that many people might start throwing shoes at me for mentioning him. But please hear me out. When it comes to BL adaptations, we also need people who have a good chemistry with each other. And in this case, I mentioned Huang Zitao because he has an extremely good chemistry with Luhan for years. I'm pretty sure the people who know them will agree with me. They still get along very well, and that's a fact we shouldn't leave behind. (So cute when Tao calls Luhan: "Lu-ge and Gege." It just reminds me again of Hua Cheng.)

I will also mention my opinion of Huang Zitao's looks and personality as a fan that I have been of him for years. Huang Zitao has done many main role dramas, in some he was a serious person, in some he was flirty, in some he was funny, in some cute, and in some sexy. All of these mentioned above are character traits of Hua Cheng. And I do have to agree that Huang Zitao can be both sexy as hell and Cute. Just like Hua Cheng's San Lang form, and Hua Cheng's original form. I also have to say that his height is just perfect. He is very tall, 6,1 ft. This is very close to Hua Cheng's height.

And about looks, many people might disagree with me, but I do believe Huang Zitao is an extremely handsome man. In the past in exo, because he was still too young, his looks were probably just too cute. But now, in 2021, we have to agree that he has changed a lot. Especially because he is a lot more mature. He has penetrating eyes, with slight eyebags which really reminded me to Hua Cheng's eyeliner in the Manhua. He also has a defined jawline and nose and a sexy smirk that also really reminds me of Hua Cheng. I have really nothing else to say. Think about it yourself. 1) Good chemistry with Luhan (Who many people want as Xie Lian.) 2) Sexy and cute looks pretty similar to Hua Cheng's. 3) Different personality traits just like Hua Cheng's. 4) Good at acting in a main role. 5) And lastly, he is one of my favorite ones to be casted as Hua Cheng if Luhan is chosen as Xie Lian.

Song Weilong: Oof, guys! Yes please. This guy, I love his acting and I also his looks. He does remind me a lot to Hua Cheng with looks. I'm not quite sure about his personality since I don’t know much about him, but he really is a good option as well. I really have nothing else to say other than that he is very handsome and that he might have an opportunity.

Kris Wu: I also heard a lot about this one lol. I honestly don't think Kris wu will be casted as Hua Cheng just because I know he doesn't do a lot of dramas. His looks and chemistry with Luhan are extremely good to be casted as Hua Cheng. However, I just can't agree with his acting. He is not bad. But I believe he is not that experienced either. I might be wrong, but this is what I know so far.

Dylan Wang: My opinion about him is the same as Darren Chen. He is good looking and his acting is very good. However, I just don't think his looks look that similar. Many people might disagree, but this is just my personal opinion.

Wang Hao Xuan: Ok so...Hmm. Yes he is gorgeous, and yes I do believe he gives some Hua Cheng vibes. BUT...but, I do have to say that many people just want him to be Hua Cheng because of Song Jiyang, and yes. Trust me. I would also have that fantasy. However, his height difference with Song Jiyang is quite big, and we have to remember that Hua Cheng is a lot taller than Xie Lian. And I know that in The Untamed Wang Yibo who was Lan Zhan was shorter than Xiao Zhan who was Wei Ying. And at the end it turned out very good. But the height difference between Song Jiyang and Wang Hao Xuan is a lot bigger than Wang Yibo's and Xiao Zhan's. I wonder how they will try to make the poor Wang Hao Xuan taller. Anyways, we also have to remember that he has only been support role just like Song Jiyang as far as I know. I might be wrong, but this is what I know so far. So, just like Song Jiyang, he is very unlikely to be Hua Cheng but people can have hope...I guess...

Ming Ren: I really don't have much to say about this. I know that many people want him to be Hua Cheng just because he has been in similar dramas that he has acted similar to him. But in my opinion, he looks just too serious for a role like Hua Cheng. We have to remember that Hua Cheng also has his cute and soft side of him which for Ming Ren might be very hard to do since he is already very mature. We also have to remember the fact that Hua Cheng has to be younger than Xie Lian. We hopefully find someone that is like that. He is a great actor, trust me. He is also handsome. But his looks and personality just don't give me that much of Hua Cheng's vibes.

To wrap this up, I will say that I also wanted to mention Xu Kai here, but since I know he also will be having a very busy schedule this year, it is extremely unlikely for him to be Hua Cheng who is a very complex role in a long project like TGCF. It's sad since he was one of my hopes too, but we also have to respect his busy schedule. We can have hope, but just remember that it is very unlikely.

Hua Cheng is indeed a complex character. Is hard to find someone that looks "Mysterious", "Sexy", and "Soft."

(Might have slight spoilers for those of you who haven't read the novel):

We have to remember that Hua Cheng has two forms. The form where he was known as "San Lang." And his original form, "Hua Cheng" basically. Hua Cheng is the mysterious sexy guy who only is a gentleman with Xie Lian. And in his San Lang form, we can still see his hotness, but it softens because of his cute personality and soft young looks. I believe that in San Lang's form we can see deeper inside of him. We can see the soft heart he has. While with Hua Cheng he is a lot more mysterious and hard to read.

When finding an actor, we cannot only focus in the actor's appearance, but more like find an actor who can be all of these: "Flirty, mysterious, softy, gentleman, cute, and hot." Cause that basically describes Hua Cheng. I have already a few different people in my head that might work, and maybe many people might disagree with me because of their personal knowledge and opinion, thats why I don’t really want to mention them in this comment.

We also need to remember that whoever gets casted as Xie Lian and Hua Cheng they both need to have already a good chemistry in real life or else it might end up being just awkward for them. However, I will say that whoever gets casted, is going to be great because this director knows what he is doing. Come on, he is the creator of the masterpiece called, "The Untamed." I trust in this director.

I agree. Many people might have different opinions about this, but I totally agree with you. Luhan not only sung the opening for TGCF's second Donghua, giving hope to the fans. But he also has the looks and personality as Xie Lian. As a fan of Luhan for years, I know he has been improving both in acting and singing during the years. The people who think he is still bad at acting or at singing, then I believe you should get updated. You just criticizing him for his slight mistakes. Everyone does mistakes in everything. We will never find perfect actors who don't do mistakes. Cause is okay to do mistakes. Whoever it is that is going to be casted, I hope they do a great job. I have so much hope for this drama. And if Luhan gets casted, it would be awesome! <3
