I might be a minority here but I love Taeju and his wife. The way Taeju cares for her, her leaving her noble status for him, the way she helps him when he does something silly, she's not even evil to her half sil till now which is an added bonus. Plus she is a shipper of Ian and Huiju ik it's for her own motives, but still that counts as something atleast.
Pretty sure the Queen Mother's dad Lord Inpyeong drove a wedge Between the king and the sons, he killed not only the former king his own sil but also the king as in their dad and the former queen. I guess the former queen was Ian's mom not his elder brothers. Now he brings snacks to his grandson which I feel like is definitely spiked somehow. Cuz the former king looked so scared like he was intoxicated somehow maybe that too was Inpyeong. The red car was tampered by Inpyeong too for sure
Ian being all pouty when he's jealous of the closeness of PM and Huiju and the way he smiles around her. His nightmares are gone too and he not only sleeps well but also smiles in his sleep. Man's so in LOVE. π₯Ί Next episode he'll again try to sacrifice him happiness and accept the fate without question and decide to end the relationship but Huiju who is also slowly falling for him not only refuses Min but also makes Ian realise that they'll stand by each other's side. My ROMAN EMPIRE for sure.
To be fair both of them are children deep inside they pretty much did not have a childhood do you know what it…
Our ml is one who learnt restraint from it but still chose duty over animosity. So he was neither scared nor did he become a beast. A beautiful way of telling how the two of them still managed to work on themselves despite all of that.
What?! That's your reasoning of hating on the drama? That's literally telling me you're new to kdramas or you're…
I don't like it either but atleast they make it a part of the plot her not randomly "Are you hungry? Let's go get my fav sandwiches."
I might have came across as a bit harsh but I'm getting frustrated on the amt of hate that people are needlessly pouring in this drama mostly in BWS. So I got defensive cuz this is quite frankly that drama that is bringing me out of my kdrama slump.

Ik I wrote a comment earlier on how similar they are and how the way they love is also so similar to acts of service and saying things in a roundabout manner
Also, I didn't really understand the meanings of his name and the reason of name change I just think it was the king telling him to be the best but never better than the crown prince. So I'd appreciate if you could add more on that if you understood something else too π₯Ή
In the next episode we will see Ian crash his car into Huiju's to save her and also to avoid her being embroiled in another Scandal of trying to harm the king. Won't be?
I love the way they have written Huiju as of now. She is like a kid who was forced to grow up too quick. Abandoned by her mom, facing the naysayers all her life for being illegitimate. Getting the surname but being treated like a murderer who killed the legal wife. A father who had no interest on her at all that pushed her to prove herself all on her own but the only way she learnt to get his attention and 'love' was by asking things. But doing that and facing the world all in her own, a world that didn't recognise her, she faced an indelible inferiority complex and she thinks that only way to legitimise her efforts and claiming her name is by becoming the heir and not just the parts of the company that are beyond repair that her dad wants to give her so that she never becomes a threat to the son.
I want her to realise her worth as a human beyond the facade of being a chaebol by finding true love in Ian
Cmon, why am i watching subway ads in a middle of drama, what a joke honestly.
What?! That's your reasoning of hating on the drama? That's literally telling me you're new to kdramas or you're so salty about the success of the drama that you're dragging it for a Subway PPL which is literally a staple in 70 percent of the dramas.
I love how Ian said that he believed that even if the world despised him, she'd understand if he ever chose to take the crown. I see this as a foreshadowing that he'll be the king at the end. As it's obvious that his brother took the crown for the pressure of his dad and father in law and his nephew doesn't want it either.
I think Queen mother will find her partner in Ryu Jeongwoo. I do believe that she was infatuated by Ian in the past and Ian may have planned to marry her too not love per se but due to their similar personalities but she was ambitious to become the queen and decided to double cross him and marry his brother.
Later on her dad realised that king was serious on abdicating the throne and giving it to his brother so he killed the king and planted seeds of suspicion on Ian
I hate what happened to Taeju's mom but how can Shit Seong blame Huiju when he went around and cheated on his wife whom he supposedly loved and got the mistress pregnant then abandoned her. You can tell that Huiju only wanted the love of her dad but the only way she knew was to ask for things so that she can get his attention as he didn't even care to listen to her to her otherwise. I think Taeju should lead the company not because he's deserving but because he is the legitimate son and he suffered a lot too we see the story in the pov of Huiju who obviously suffered the most still. Also I kinda want him to run the company to the ground that's the best punishment for the shit of a father iy you can even call him one in the first place. πβ
Ian and Huiju, They literally resemble each other. The way they are clumsy in showing love to the ones they care but they still manage to show it in their own unique way. Both ostracised by their families desperately trying to prove themselves just to exist but they still get judged left and right.
So the king wanted to see I shin lose and he realised that and purposely scored lower than Jujak after which as a punishment king renamed him Ian ? Am I getting this right? Why is Ian being punished for being the 2nd kid when his 1st kid did didn't even want to be king?
