I love how the robot saved his bratty rich boy when he was drugged but straight up left the friend on the floor. The dude had his priorities but ya’ll just gonna leave him for anyone to find rip.
It may not have a solid plot but it’s still a wholesome story about a brother working through his grief. There’s a sweet message and for the older viewers you might notice a little social commentary on how a guy can murder hundreds of goons with no police intervention. For the younger viewers it also serves as an educational tale on the dangers of privilege and how a lack of discipline can lead to cement tipped bats.
This movie is adorable, pretty cliche but I don’t think that really matters when it’s a fluffy story.
Absolute props to Gong Myung for his abilities to play a puppy-eyed high schooler in his 30s like he isn’t the only cast member who existed in 1998. I love this man.
This is such a beautiful series but that isn’t enough to forgive how brutal it was on my heart. These actors didn’t have to make me cry so much. Still, when I finally recover I’d happily rewatch it again in one sitting whenever I need a good cry.
Double standards are when people understand why Bongsu is the way he is because of his past traumas but can't…
Gyeon-u has been through a lifetime of people being terrible to him and the fact he’s so far just closed people off until Seong-A came along shows how good a person he is inside. Granny did a good job raising that boy.
As for Bong-su he’s clearly selfish to want something he can’t have without making everyone else suffer and devouring Gyeon-u! He’s clearly spent a lot more years getting meaner since becoming a ghost and Yeomhwa going all evil witch on him sure as hell isn’t helpful but he was clearly close enough to someone in his life that you can argue he was probably a decent kid? And I think the fact he agreed not to hurt people or kill Gyeon-u means he’s childish and selfish but not hopeless?
If baby fairy can pull Gyeon-u out of his shell then I’m sure she can stop Bong-su from using Gyeon-u as one.
I can understand them empathising with Bong-su, he’s just a ghost doing ghost things because ghost. Yeomhwa though. WHY DO THEY KEEP LETTING HER DO STUFF. The second she did something evil they should’ve all slapped some sense into her, she was already making Gyeon-U suffer, she made baby fairy sick and letting a ghost kill like… 20 people or something… And now she’s entirely responsible for mama shamans death! Even Bong-su liked mama shaman. How bad does a shaman have to be around here to be locked up in her own box.
Episode 1 is pretty light but the ending of episode 2 is just evil! Gyeon-U’s struggles already had me crying because his sweet little granny felt so bad… And then the drama says “ Oh wait, there’s more” and gut punches you by taking away granny.
It’s a high school drama with a ghostly twist but I gotta say I’m definitely digging the role reversal. There aren’t enough dramas with the ML being the damsel in distress.
So they're still at school. Didn't expect that, as the actors are adults. Based on 30 mins it seems to carry all…
I don’t think you’ll find a school drama anywhere in the world that has young actors unless it’s Disney. It’s a childish drama with all the usual tropes but I think it’s pretty good so far :)
Nam Gi Jun is seriously on a mission to hit Koo Jun Mo with a shoe rn and I support him! But also… So Ji Sub ; A ; don’t kill Gong Myung! At least all his other recent roles are so pure and less punchable.
The concept is ridiculous and so far this is one of the most stupidly entertaining comedies coming out! The second episode was sad but the trio’s dynamic is fun so it stays nice and heartwarming. It’s also great seeing Anupam Tripathi, someone needs to give that guy a main role.
“ The Japanese sucked hardcore during colonial rule… And also-“ Is pretty much what this show is. It’s predictable but absolutely worth watching! It isn’t exactly a light hearted romcom and it’s disturbing that this… This is literally what happened in Korea :I but also! There’s a monster.
It feels like a solid 80% of the plot is going on and it’s just occasionally interrupted by a monster like a giant death machine chasing them is second priority. Even the Japanese are out here trying to hunt MC and his band of merry men just to go “ Oh yeah that thing we made is loose in the hospital too.” Well don’t they feel all embarrassed.
I didn’t mind Son Hae Yeong’s ambitious nature as a plot device in the early story or even her questionable selfishness when it came to her feeling invisible to her parents— Considering most of the fosters likely never had that of their own— But all the reasons she’s upset with Kim Ji-Uk toward the end are almost cruel. His being forced to go abroad becomes him purposefully abandoning her, him taking care of her mother becomes a problem and his love becomes a problem until he rightly tells her she’d never said she cares about him either.
The Bok family’s dislike is more understandable with the potential threat of a half brother but the way they handled the whole thing with a dose of comedy at points just made *uck-Gyu’s forming friendship to absolutely rejecting a brother who already said he has no plans of taking over to be… Well, that whole thing should’ve been a deal breaker second couple wise.
Kim Ji-Uk can’t catch a break. The actors all did very well but it felt like the story wanted them to take in an abandoned Ji-Uk puppy but instead make everyone emotionally kick it.
I just want a drama based entirely on Ko Won and his friendship with Im Sun because the highlight of the show for me were the misunderstandings. I wish they’d taken a bit more time with Ko Won, though he was a lil bit of a stalker, he had his issues before coming and was clearly struggling with PTSD from the attack but toward the end he barely had a minute or two of screen time each episode. How could they miss the opportunity for Mi-Jin’s friend meeting her favourite idol too?
I will never not love a monster drama and this is no exception! Though I thought the plot was super predictable and it oddly felt like a series that could’ve been a movie but I’m still glad was a series?
It had a few moments in the hospital as well where it felt like the creature was always this “Oh btw there’s a monster in this place” on the priority list. It also had these moments I found entertaining with Wi ha-Joon where it seemed like it literally just took him being in a cage for a little bit for him to betray everyone but it took Mr Gu a lot of hurt to even consider it.
The acting was great and despite the creature and scientist dude bro making it feel a lot more unrealistic the drama actually showed a lot of how brutal the occupation really was. Of course everything in life is vastly improved by Seo-Joon.
It’d be interesting to see an evil twin storyline in a drama where the FL is just becoming more and more paranoid her husband is having an affair but it’s actually just the twin living his own life unaware that he’s now being stalked by a woman with delusions he’s her cheating husband. Mix in suspicious behaviour from her actual husband and you got yourself a mental breakdown that can only end well
Look it makes no sense, everything messed up about each character is wrapped up in humour. The show focuses way too much on Strong Mum Geum Ju and they wasted Ryu Si-O as a one-dimensional evil pretty boy when he could’ve been a redeemable one.
I don’t need enemies to lovers but it would’ve worked better here or just given Nam-Soon a platonic friendship arc with det. Kang or Si-O. Either way it could’ve been written better. I didn’t get any sympathetic vibes when it came to things like Nam-Soon and Si-O being raised without their families or any sympathy for the villain who was literally stolen by Pavel but around Nam-Soon actually seemed to be showing he was capable of more than that. If they focused more on that growing friendship and had Nam-Soon do what literally sounds like the most innocent yayfriendship Nam-Soon thing possible in talking Si-O down (Even if he died for betraying Pavel in the end) that redemption would’ve been better.
It isn’t great but I still enjoyed it, just disappointed. I’d say it’s a background show of wasted potential
I’m liking this but they’re seriously messy. Bully bro out here being violent and no one has properly said “Hey let’s all vote for the guy who is 1009% capable of murder. He did hide his phone and torture someone.” or be more suspicious of the people who have directly gotten people killed like miss “I didn’t push him”
Tbh I don’t think either of them are mafia because that seems dumb but the fact they haven’t been at the tippy top of the lists each time
Also Ji Chang-Wook Σ(-᷅_-᷄๑)
