So I made it to the end. The Wicked Game remained entertaining, but got too frustratingly silly for me.
Ultimately, it felt like something of a waste of a charismatic cast and the most sizzling and sweet chemistry between romantic leads that I can remember - in any genre.
I don't know guys, how can there ever be a happy ending at this point? Pheem f***ed up beyond repair, how could…
I am certain they will come up with an insultingly implausible sequence whereby Than somehow is still alive. That is why this whole episode just did it for me. It just got too ridiculous - it broke the absurd-o-meter for me.
This latest episode finally wrecked this show for me. I mean, I knew I was going to get a silly thriller, and the show started well. But silly (and fun) became stupid along the way. This latest twist just went too far.
It is a shame, because there is so much to like about the series. But I can only roll my eyes so many times. I’m glad others are still enjoying it, though!
Haters are so pathetic, like, if you don't like something, just ignore it. 🙄Anyway, let's keep sharing and…
It seems to me that some toxic ‘fans’ have it in for Pooh as an actor. I never got into PitBabe, so cannot comment on his performance in that. But he is doing fine in this series. I find his character’s combination of fear, vulnerability and sass quite compelling, actually!
This series is so watchable, it’s like the fentanyl that serves as a key plot device. Totally addictive. Sure, it would be good if it didn’t keep dialling up the action to crazy all the time. And it would be even better if the notional villain wasn’t such a pathetic idiot. But these are minor quibbles. You have to watch this show!
I’m really enjoying this. Lots of fun, with the intrigue and morally ambiguous characters. Plus the chemistry with all the couples - woof!
My only quibble is how quickly the crazy action ramped up. I would have preferred more of a rising tensions approach. And can we have a Thai BL villain who isn’t an idiot and doesn’t throw toddler tantrums? Chet reminds me of that dumb brat from Reset. (But, seriously, Chet and the bodyguard need to hookup, like, now!)
Anyway, having said that, I cannot wait for the next episode. It’s all so juicy!
Another brilliantly bonkers episode! Even SWL is starting to grow on me a bit, despite the best efforts of the character. And is Hua Yong finally using his absolutely superpower-level manipulation skills for good rather than evil? A least to finally get SWL and GT together?
Meanwhile, on Hua Yong this episode, I was a little confused by his behaviour. I understand his scolded puppy-dog act around Mr Sheng, just another part of his mad genius, but increasingly sad, campaign to get Sheng to love him.
But, in some scenes, when Sheng wasn’t even around, he seemed genuinely shocked that Sheng didn’t simply forgive him right away. Like, as if he expected it would be a case of: “Yeah, babe, I systemically lied to you as part of an enormously elaborate scheme to sort of win you as a prize. But how can you stay mad at this pretty face?”
I am so glad that Hua Yong’s epic, dizzying deceptions have now been revealed. And all it took was an earthquake!
It will be interesting how the series deals with the Sheng Shao and Hua Yong relationship following the revelation. Bizarrely, despite how despicably toxic Hua Yong has been, I still kinda want them to somehow sensibly get together.
Meanwhile, the secondary couple is just getting irritating. The secret omega is too pitiful to be compelling or sympathetic. And his childhood friend/boss/eventual lover is a clueless, prejudiced jerk.
Anyway, this show is practically a 10/10! The drama!

I mean, the charter is just too smart for that!
