Unpopular opinion - I have to say this, I really love the cast and each actor individually, but their acting in this drama has been really bad so far. Specially both MC, it just doesn't feel authentic at all and it feels forced whenever she bullies him or he's cold to her. Maybe it's the beginning of the drama so there is still not enough chemistry between the two, but I would've expected more from them. **Spoiler alert** On episode 2, when he told her she can cry and not force laugh - The way she cried felt so fake. Is it just me? I'm really confused honestly..
Yh, as much as I love this show for the main leads, including the Eun Seong, Soo cheol and his wife, I can definitely…
I'm quite surprised that you didn't have much expectations before starting this. I'm a bit jealous lol. When I saw the cast (and actually the writer too) I was really excited and waiting for this one. Even though the name hints about it, I didn't expect to get that much melodrama vibes, which was never my cup of tea. I can't seem to find this one a rom/com, not even once. There are some scenes that are funny (or at least try to be funny) but so far it's been 50% villains, 20% stupid families/characters time (and not in a comedy way), 25% rom, 5% comedy. One good thing I can definitely say is that we're starting to see a character development in Hong Soo Cheol. I'm expecting him to get more screen time (and his "wife") as he's considered a main character.
Next week is gonna be interesting based on the preview. Basically a new ark is starting. Counting down starts! :)
=~= Half a series has passed - Summary =~= This is probably gonna be an unpopular opinion considering how popular the drama is and its current score. I'll start from the end - The best thing about this kdrama is the OST in my opinion, and this should tell you a lot. I just finished watching episode 8. It was ok, I enjoyed it. However, I keep getting frustrated watching this kdrama and I think I finally understand why. On paper, there is a very high quality cast here with very popular actors who are good at what they do. The problem is the writing, and in particular the writing of the characters. There are too many villains. They are written poorly. Too many "copy-paste" characters too, not many unique ones and nothing is new compared to what we already watched in other kdramas. Even those "on the good side" are half villains themselves, and I'm talking about both of the ML and FL families. It doesn't make sense that a family, which is supposed to be the richest and most successful in Korea, is made up of a bunch of such stupid people, headed by the chairman. I understand the desire to advance the plot, and after episode 8 I can say that I like the direction it's going, but I can't hide the feeling of failure and disappointment that I still have with the way the series is written. The thought of "Wow, it could have been so good" doesn't disappear from my head. After many thoughts of even dropping it at the beginning, I can say that I'm gonna finish this drama, as I still feel like it could definitely get better. This won't be a 10/10 or 9/10 from me, but I really hope that I'll enjoy more this kdrama in the second half. See you next week!
So after 6 episodes of on and off and then mostly off (was even close to drop this at some point) - I enjoyed episode 7 the most so far. It still wasn't perfect, but it was interesting to watch as a lot happened. The ending was heartbreaking. I still find myself too frustrated watching this kdrama though. I really hope the second half of this series will be much better and with more optimistic vibes. Although the name of the series gives a hint, I wasn't expecting to get melodrama vibes in this kdrama (which is not my cup of tea). Nevertheless, so far, everything goes wrong and in favor of the villains (too many villains btw), I really hope that starts to change soon because this has been too one-sided.
** unpopular opinion **This drama annoys me too much. It starts with the characters. Each of them is very annoying.…
Oh wow, I didn't expect this post to get that much reaction. I'm glad I'm not the only one that was thinking all these thoughts. It makes me feel good knowing I'm not weird lol
I have no idea how the grandfather built his empire with his naivety.
Absolutely agree. The way his character is written is bad. I've seen many kdramas with decent old, smart and cunning chairmans. This one is a stupid senile man blind by love for his mistress. The same goes for the rest of the family. They are just evil, arrogant and stupid people.
** unpopular opinion ** This drama annoys me too much. It starts with the characters. Each of them is very annoying. The dynamic between the main characters is also annoying. There are too many kdrama clichés in this one. I don't like that there are too many problems that can be solved in a few seconds by just talking about things. I understand that we are building something here for the sake of the plot, but it feels like there are too many "villain characters" in the story here. Everything that happened in the last episode (6) is unrealistic, forcing the plot to be in favor of the bad guys. It shows about a bad writing when the viewer is able to realize that things are being forced. Also I'm saying this a bit late but, what's the deal with the MFL and her relationship with the main villain? I understand that you work together, but it just doesn't feel right the way she treats her husband next to him ----Spoiler alert:---- The MFL didn't react at all when she was told that a device was found in her husband office, but as soon as she saw a picture of a divorce document she completely flipped. There are no proportions between the responses. As she thought realistically at that moment when she was told about the device - I'm expecting that would react the same when seeing the letter (both cases are very extreme. It doesn't make sense that she didn't react at all from the device to begin with). But again, it brings me back to what I said - It feels like the plot is being forced to currently be in favor of the bad guys.
I believe it depends on the parents. aka, if both parents have powers then the child will inherit both powers. If only one parent has a power then the child might / might not inherit it.
I just binged the first 7 episodes and.. This is AMAZING! I think I understand why they released the first 7 episodes all at once. It feels like everything so far now was an "intro". They built it up really well. The coming episodes are going to be intense! There are so many big and known actors. Even the very minor ones are support characters in other kdramas. Can't wait to continue and see how it goes. Hopefully they will keep the hype.
P.S. For those that are interested in the webtoon, I went and searched for it online and to be honest - The kdrama feels much better (and it's quite rare when it happens). I couldn't relate to the art of the webtoon, and also the kdrama is "darker" and with more mature vibes.
It started off nice, but I'm dropping this one. This is way too cheezy for me. Too many clichés moments (ML catching the FL before she falls, this is so 2010). I also don't really like the tsundere-type male. I understand that it's adapted from a webtoon, but it's too unrealistic for me. I mean, he never drank beer before? WTF? *spoiler alert* The part where he's about to save her from the mountains coming episode is way too much for me now.
Maybe I will return to this in the future, but for now I prefer using my time watching other kdramas.
I just finished watching the last episode and I have conflict feelings. I loved watching each and every episode of it. I really liked waiting every week for 3 (sometimes 2) new episodes. Although it's based on a webtoon (and novel), the writers here rewrote the plot in almost everything. The writer did a good job making all the puzzle pieces into one in the last episode. Everything made sense if you rethink about it. But why am I having this unsatisfied feeling inside me? I'm not sure if I feel disappointed, but there are so many things I would've done differently here. I really don't understand what the writers were thinking here. This kdrama was a 9/10 for me all the way, and if things would've done a bit better it could've been a easy 10/10, but it dropped to around 8-8.5/10 for me. It felt like the writers were rushing everything in the last episode (it happens quite a lot lately in so many Kdramas tbh). We could've easy get 1-2 more episodes (or even 30mins) to provide us with the satisfaction. In conclusion: I enjoyed the drama. Each episode went really fast for me and it was fun to watch, but I wouldn't consider rewatching it or fully recommend it to others because of the bitter feeling I'm having now. Is it just me?
In his second life, the car accident was caused by one of his family members possibly Seong Jun but the one to…
Then who is the one that killed him in his first life as Heyon Woo? Is it possible that Do Jun was still alive in his first life (his mother was asking their family where he is) and ordered to kill Hyeon Woo since he found out about the bank account? (and that's why he didn't die in the car accident with him grandfather?) So basically he also killed himself in his first life? Hopefully I'm not making myself even more confused.
People are harsh on this. I enjoyed watching it. For those of you that want to start watching - I recommend it. However, you should know that the ending is open (they probably leave it like this for a second season chance, which I hopefully wish they have).

Again, just my opinion here..
Anyone know what's the highest rating for a K-drama in overall (not just TvN)?
I can't seem to find this one a rom/com, not even once. There are some scenes that are funny (or at least try to be funny) but so far it's been 50% villains, 20% stupid families/characters time (and not in a comedy way), 25% rom, 5% comedy.
