Girl, he gave her the position so that he can have his people who can investigate stuff....aside from the influence of the six ministries and two chancellors....he trusts her capability, but may not necessarily automatically trust her way of doing things... though he is an emperor, he has only been one for six months....he is not wise demi-god or anything...he is also a human and realistically...the female lead was rash....but I still love her....but the male lead's anger from a monarch's perspective was justified..had any of his other ministers did this...he would have done the same!!

Your opinion sounds a bit too biased...but I do agree...both your explanations explain how the drama is mirroring real-life experiences rather than simply following the usual troupe of the powerful male lead being hopelessly in love with the female lead. But this is a political drama, with politics, corruption and need for justice. The female lead is a minister and male lead is the emperor, they have stared working together....they will gradually build trust and respect for each other. It takes time. Their different views of justice is an outcome of their upbringing and experiences...which causes friction, makes absolute sense! Thus, we shouldn't give up on the drama and simply try to understand how these dynamics and politics actually work....

This drama is more political than romantic, so here, I believe the male lead is test Meng or simply disagreeing with her which makes sense....but he surely doesn't secretly like her or anything unlike how usually it happens in dramas....I think he'll start liking her gradually, but he somehow cares for her and confides in her in terms of political aspects and matters...but their views and methodologies still differ..which creates friction...and both of them keep giving each other reality check which is also amazing!!! 😅

The thing is that for the first time in many historical dramas...the male lead is not agreeing with the female lead...which makes sense given the level of trust they share and the different paths they believe in while trying to achieve their respective motives which falls under a umbrella of motives which both of them are trying to pursue....it is interesting to see how their dynamics develop....and I think this might be a slow-burn!!!

I feel Gu Qing has less of a chance....as per the level of screentime he's getting...yin qing might be the one with the level of screentime he's receiving...but the tables can still turn at any moment...so not fully sure!!

the subs on all the episodes except ep 9 on Kisskh are superb...ep 9 is understandable, but a little bit wonky....but if you're used to subtitles and have a good understanding of english...it shouldn't be a big issue!

I checked again...for ep 9....it is 80-90% amazing subs...but the 5-10%... gets weird...but if you know English to atleast intermediate level... you'll be able to watch it with some ease!

The subtitles at first, were like aristocratic dialogues, then it was changed and felt like someone from 2026 can easily understand, but was still broken. Haven't checked since 2 hours on the website, Kisskh...will check again tomorrow and keep you updated!
