Having second thoughts on watching this adaptation, bcs of what Iβve been hearing.I used to read to manhwa before,…
As someone who read the whole webtoon and found it pretty bland and boring β because I literally missed my whole night's sleep to read it and finish it only to find how beautifully boring it was. Watch the drama for the comedy, romance and emotional depth, but don't expect it to be too realistic or diving into serious topics too deeply. It doesn't, currently as of episode 5, almost half way through the drama. If you need something fun, definitely watch it while taking its office dynamics with a pinch of salt.
Also, note that the drama doesn't follow the webtoon very closely, it's more of a loose adaptation, but for the better!!!
I watched the first and last episode to get an idea of the drama, from the very get-go β the characters, the atmosphere, the cinemtiography, the music, the tension, and the acting was phenomenal!!!!!
The metaphors and the directing was unexpected, but so worth it!!! Can anyone recommend similar directing which has metaphors, anecdotes, or a literary sense attached to it to enhance the overall viewing experience!!!
Right now, I'm at ep 6 β Chu Zhao feels very weak and not so decisive at her schemes and games for someone who…
Does she get any better? Honestly, I feel the drama should have had atleast 36 to 40 episodes, which could properly elaborated the whole world-building aspect and could have left room for Chu Zhao to learn, assess and then, scheme β and form alliances and allies. Also, the relationship between the leads could have been more developed and slow-burn....like the romance is good and the chemistry is fire...but you know it's not giving genuine....like I understand why they might like each other....but I need to see that whole buildup and feel it in my bones. And one more suggestion, if they were not going to follow the novel fully β I think with all the changes I suggested....Xiao Xun could have been killed earlier, but then Chu Zhao could have had new enemies β Deng Yi and Xie Yangfang to kill and remove. It would have shown her character's wit and scheming skills and how well-equipped has she become with courtroom politics and games.

I know, court room stuff is complex and unpredictable, but still and I know she is not the most well-versed person with courtroom stuff. I think the first mistake she made was to not have any allies to back her, court allies which can help her solidify her position and stand against Xie Yangfang and Deng Yi. Because Xiao Xun will be handled by her and Xie Yanlai.
