To all the people who say the ending was so weird and confusing, honestly, it was not! It was quite realistic for Meng Ting Hui to go and recover from the trauma that the Blood Moon Sect put her through and then, the death of Yi Qing/Shagguan and Sita Xue and so many people of her kingdom, plus Di Nian, Huang Bo, The Left Prime Minister and God knows who all. It would be really stressful and trauma inducing for her...good thing...she left...travelled, met new people and experienced new cultures and taught in a girls' school just like she and Fu Zhi imagined but then, Ying Gua came that means — her dream has transformed into something bigger and more impactful, while her also choosing her own happiness. I do believe there should have been 36 to 38 episodes, the ending was rushed, but still tied up many of the loose ends. I still hate the director for all the absolutely heart-breaking deaths of some of my fav characters!!! But still, the friendships, the subtle romance, the wits, the comedy, the scheming, makes me rate this a solid 9 out of 10. Come fight me if you want to, but I won't change it!
It's a really good drama and well written. I don't think people truly empathize with the effects of the emotional…
But then, it does have some choppy scenes or scenes where there isn't a transitional scene or anything similar...which makes the storyline a bit more cohesive!

You presented it so eloquently. Indeed, after your explanation, I've gained a better understanding of her childhood experiences and how they affect her current personality, aims, behaviour, etc.
Loved the vulnerable moment when the emperor broke down in tears. The confession scene was cute but I needed more.…
Exactly. They feel less like chancellors and more like the jobless haters who hate everything everyday that you see on the internet. They are so useless, that is kind of funny and infuriating at times. But obviously, Ying Gua and Mengmeng...fill that gap for me! I love them!!!! 💖
