Trust the 8.9 rating and ignore some of the reviews. If this drama sounds like one that would interest you - I say take the plunge and decide for yourself whether you like it or not. IMO it may not have been perfect, but it was a heck of a great ride, my friend and I had a blast watching it each week, making it one of my favourite dramas of the year!
So I realise I'm well and truly late to the party, but I was suddenly in the mood to give this a try. It's been a good while since I saw the Korean and Japanese remakes, and I've been on a bit of a Chinese/Taiwanese drama streak lately, so I figured, why not? The weirdest thing though - despite never having seen it before I'm swept up in this feeling of nostalgia. Maybe it's the time period, maybe it's seeing all these actors/idols as their younger selves. Who knows? All I can say is nearly two decades later, this is still entertaining stuff XD
