Then I watched a Korean Variety Show called I LIVE ALONE. The actor Ahn Bo Hyun was featured for that episode and he lamented that he has gone for countless auditions but failed to get even a small role. This was years ago. Today Ahn Bo Hyun plays the ML!
So now I empathise and understand these supporting roles in dramas or movies are opportunities for new actors to craft their skill and over time, they may shine as brightly as the lead actors.
In this story, if DR finds another man, then the producer needs to look for another actor to play her love interest. Same for DY. These additional actors will incur production costs.
That's why DR has to be paired with DY. These roles are precious acting opportunities for them as they are relatively new actors.
