I was so tempted to post a similar question earlier but changed my mind. Acowen, I am so clueless of Seonghui's motive to approach Eunoh and then offer her a $30,000 job contract. Makes no sense that she wants to rock the boat when she is happily and comfortably married to a rich man and with two stepchildren too.
I think Seonghui referred to Eunoh as "that thing" because she was shocked that Eunoh is so civic-minded and cares so much for others who suffered unreasonable harm.
Because Seonghui herself is nothing like Eunoh so she could not understand her reason to spend time and even risk her life to punish the hit-and-run driver. She must have abandoned Eunoh to get married. She is likely a go-getter, self-centred and cold-hearted. I am assuming she did abandon Eunoh as of now because we are not given more of her background story.
But I did notice that she is deliberately not pushing Seongjae to find a wife and not anxious about his work too. His father is reasonable to be anxious because Seongjae is, after all, his biological son.
