No they aren't and that is why you will see so many awkward and uncomfortable situations in all the seasons making the show so entertaining to watch :D
And the hosts are just awesome. The show won't be as good without them.

After watching all the seasons this would be my order from best to worst:
1) Boys & Girls in the City (2015–2016)
2) Boys × Girls Next Door (2012–2014)
3) Opening New Doors (2017)
4) Aloha State (2016–2017)

Nice list! High and Low is one of my top favorite Kurosawa movies.
