I'd say yes. I can't imagine to watch this without knowing the 1st season.

Hidden gem. There are dramas this short that are boring. This isn't the case. Funny, sweet, exciting. The cast was good as well as the story :)).

The second ep had 35, the third had 46 or smth. Not sure lol. Just be sure it's not 65 mins as some Korean dramas.

W/o the first season you won't be able to understand the story. Maybe you can catch up, but not fully. I can't imagine to watch this radomly. Also the importance of Ruo Bai is smth only people who watched 1st season can understand.

A lot of people give low ranking because they didn't see the first season, watch this only for JCW and are totally lost in the story. :(

Guys, my theory in the first ep was that Ruo Bai sent Chang An to Bai Cao to help her improve and get over. Let's see, this is real mystery!

For all people who wants this watch only for Ji Chang Wook. Son't share your insulting thoughts about his chinese dubbing and how you can't hear his beautiful voice. Dubbing is totally common in China. Also some chinese actors are dubbed because of the accent.
I watch it on viki and I read a lot of negative comments. If you don't like the story, don't watch it. It's simple. Don't insult this show just because your "husband" is "wasting his talent". For me this show means a lot. It helped me in the worst time in my life. It's all about hard work and improvement. Also importance of team and friends. This show can really help you to feel motivated: "You will make it. You fail this time, try again."

Amazing cast, this is something that comes to my mind immediately as I think of this drama. All performed really well. It took me 9 eps to start be interested in drama. After 17th ep I fell in love and almost marathoned until the end. Left deep impression and I won't forget.

Well, it was quite normal for the party to take an action in this aspect of comanders' lives.

Lovly settings and word play. Plot isn't unique, but it's well made. After watching you don't feel it's an hour per ep drama. Suzy's from laughing to crying scene was very impressive. It said everything to me.

She's popular and people already said this before drama started. So stupid people will just repeat words of others. They won't see her acting (bad or good), they just know it's bad.

I get your point. I know how it goes and it can seem to be this way, but my point is.. not every drama is low. Some dramas (and yes, there's just a few of them) have really deep message and it can deliver new thoughts to watchers. Change their view. And we don't know why she chose this one. Maybe it's really good, maybe she needs money, who knows. But I want to believe this will be a good drama dealing with women issues. But it can be exactly how you said. Haha, I just don't like when I read judging comments before the drama airs. Let's see what they are going to bring us. :))

I don't find it weird to act in a good drama, this drama will deal with the important issues I think. Such as the women in society, rapes, sexism and so on. If it will be like this I think it's better to act in one important drama than having this urge to stay "movie actor" by all cost. Btw, that "ex idol" Yoon Kye Sang is really good actor, who slowly built his career not to be known as ex idol.
There's possibility the drama will be bad, but why think of it this way just for mentioned reasons.
