I've watched it.. It's not that bad I think.. But I can't help thinking that they actually wanted to make it a BG romance at first, but suddenly changed their mind in the middle and made it a BL "censored romance" drama (haha.. I dunno how to call it)..
I really like the friendship between the three main characters.. In my opinion, that's the strongest appeal from the drama.. but, there're some things that I'm really dissatisfied about.. like, eventhough it's a mystery-detective drama, some supposed-to-be-clever characters can be so silly sometimes (especially the male lead, Tang Fan :""")
If you need something to pass your time, you can continue watching it.. but don't hope too much for the BL.. if you compared it with The Untamed and Guardian, I really felt no chemistry between the two male leads in TSOMD.. (in The Untamed, we can know that they're a couple with our eyes closed hahaha)..

I actually saw your watchlist not to see your rating for The Untamed, I just wanted to know what dramas did you usually enjoy.. and from what I saw, in my opinion, this drama is just not for you.. you can actually try it by watching another similiar type of dramas like "Guardian" or "The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty", or try to watch "School 2013" for korean drama.. if you still don't like them, then The Untamed is just not your type of drama..
Your statement that the drama doesn't deserve the rating may hurt some people like me that think it deserves it.. you can see by the high rating that many people actually enjoy The Untamed..
I'm sorry for being nosy and overly sensitive for some ratings. The main actor of the drama, Xiao Zhan, got bullied and bashed by some Chinese haters and they blindly gave one star for The Untamed in the chinese MDL called Douban.. there are so many of them (and I'm quite sure that not all of them have watched it) that the rating fall into 7.8 from 8.2.. I don't want that kind of thing to happen in MDL too :""""
