Genuinely curious, do you think someone who’s not into BL and mostly watches romance dramas would enjoy this??
Yes, of course.. actually I'm not into BL too and I tend to avoid any BL related stories.. at first, I hestitated to watch this series too.. but then I got completely hooked (even I started to read the novel eventhough it's a BL).. I read all the author's novels which are BL and suprisingly I finished all of them.. I though that I had turned into a fujoshi XDDD but then I started to read a popular BL novel, and I couldn't even finish the first chapter.. it made me realized that the thing that got me hooked isn't the BL stuff, but instead the thrilling, sad, funny, and romantic story.. I think everyone can enjoy the novel even if you are not into BL (as long as you're not a homophobic)..
The same with the drama.. I shipped the main couple so hard, even when I'm not into BL.. even if you're a homophobic, you'll still be able to enjoy the drama because this ain't a BL (I promise that they won't cross any line that will make you cringey as you're not used to watch boy × boy).. this drama is really an "open drama", I mean everyone can watch it from their own views, for those who don't like BL can assume this drama as a brotherhood drama, while those who like BL can assume this drama as a BL drama.. XDDD overall, this is a really wonderful and must watch drama.. not only because the relationship between the two main leads, but because this drama has soooo many things that will make you cry and laugh..

Actually, at first, I kinda liked him.. he's a cute tsundere boy that acted cool outside but actually warm inside.. he cared about his family and his rebelious senior brother.. sometimes, he got confused and started to feel inferior to his brother, but still that wouldn't change their brotherhood..
But there's one turning point that made me stop adoring him.. it's when WWX chose the Wen sect over him.. he was like "why do you help them? They have nothing to do with you! Don't try to play a hero" I was like.. what?? Wen Qing and Wen Ning risked their lifes to save you.. they even had to get tortured for saving someone who didn't have anything to do with them.. and now, they met a dead-end, they would die if WWX didn't save them.. but Jiang Cheng asked WWX to give them up and be an ungrateful person.. (If WWX really gave them them, I'm more than ready to curse him tho lol).. I dunno if he was a coward or an ungrateful person, but it really pissed me off.. And then he asked Wen Qing why did she didn't look for him and looked for WWX instead? I mean, what's the point of asking the question after you asked WWX to give them up.. (and Wen Qing's answer really made me satisifed XDD)
Don't get me wrong.. I don't hate Jiang Cheng.. the scene where it was revealed that he got caught by Wen sect in place of WWX really got me teary eyes.. I just don't have a good impression of him at some points in the story, and I think that's what make people hate him XDDD

1. Yes. Nie Huaisang is actually an innocent and playful guy. If only Jin Guangyao didn't kill Nie Mingjue, I'm sure Nie Huaisang would still be that idle kid who recite poem and play with his birds everyday. 2. The thing that Jin Guangyao wanted to dig up is his mother's corpse. But someone (most likely Nie Huaisang) changed it into Nie Mingjue's corpse. I don't think he had any particular goal. He just wanted to be recognized by his father and accepted by everyone. He used to be a "real" kind guy that did everything to assist his father. But then he heard his father insulting his mother. The feeling changed into hate. I think that was the beginning of his greed for power. Because he wanted to be respected by everyone so no one would look down on him and his mother. I don't think it's "just because his lowly birth status" because that lowly birth status is the thing that made everyone look down on him, couldn't accept his existence, even his own father. 3. There's no difference I guess. 4 yin irons are known by the world, but that yin sword was hidden in the Xuanwu cave and no one knew its existence except Xue Yang (and later Wei Wuxian). The reason why the "yin sword" could defeat the other 3 yin irons is because Wei Wuxian had "upgraded" it into Stygian Tiger Seal which is very strong and only Wei Wuxian could create it (later Xue Yang tried to repair the Stygian Tiger Seal, but he couldn't make it as perfect as Wei Wuxian's) 4. Well, we know that Wei Wuxian is such a genius boy. I can imagine him as a genius professor with spiky hair that doing his experiment until his laboratory explode everyday. He created the soul-decoy flag and soul-detecting compass. He is also the one that wrote the book which contained the soul sacrificing ritual. And he is the only person that could create the most perfect living corpse with full consciousness (later Xue Yang could do it too tho). It's not a big deal for him to turn the yin sword into the powerful Stygian Tiger Seal.
