I am still rooting for Benita and Jerome. Jerome is a great guy but lacks confidence. Harim and Ricky are basically a couple but I am still doubting her sincerity considering how fast she moved from Dewey to Ricky. I felt bad for Sora, I don’t think she will find someone on this show, she is both gorgeous and successful, and I think it can be intimidating for most men. Jisoo needs to give Dewey a chance. Tom seems lost lol

I personally do not rely on mdl ratings at all lol. I LOVED the fact that they were friends instead of rivals this was my favorite part of the entire series and I am really glad that they went against the traditional narrative of women being rivals and competing with each other, them becoming close and supporting each other is such a modern and realistic approach to what female relationships truly are. Yes you are right I forgot about Mi Mo’s dad, her having a lovely family showed that she turned out to be a good kid as well

Just finished watching, binge-worthy and overall a really good drama. Despite all the gore and chocking value, the drama is super interesting in regards to diverse societal problems and has definitely a feminist approach which I loved. I don’t know if you have noticed but the entirety of the men in this drama are f* disgusting, not only the three ‘victims’ but the coworkers as well, the husband of the old lady, the absence of Mo mi’s father... It also showed the non realistic beauty standards and the hypocrisy of it, everyone encourages you to do plastic surgery but once you do it they criticise you for doing it, besides both Mo Mi and her friend Chun Ar were beautiful woman to begin with which shows the absurdity of it. The main antagonist, the old lady, represents this toxic mother who loves her son so much that she would close her eyes on anything, she never even asked what happened nor was she willing to know. The absolute failure of their judicial system on every level, internal and external failures; corruption and abuse of power in the inside and the non protection of the family members of the convicted on the outside. They also touched upon the sexual harassment at the workplace, and so many other issues and problematics. I think there are so many interesting discussions around this drama and that it can be analysed in media and film studies. And I forgot to say but the acting was phenomenal, especially from the three main actresses, what a cast!

Everyone go watch In the name of god: a holy betrayal on Netflix. It’s a doc series of 8 episodes about different religious cults in South Korea. I instinctively though about this drama while watching, LOTS of similarities. Also didn’t know that cults had so much power and influence in South Korea, it is insane

For me, the most powerful moment was when Dong Eun confronted her mother for being her first perpetrator

What I know is that Korean screenwriters love to make the most frustrating scenarios that one can possibly imagine, let’s wait and see for the second part as the first part was only a set up in terms of revenge

If it interests anyone there is a Russian series called ‘Obnimaya nebo’ (Embracing the Sky) which reminded me of this drama. It has many similarities but the Russian one is more tragic and heartbreaking

Beautiful drama, perfect pacing and stunning cinematography. Also an example of ‘flashbacks to present’ storytelling done right. While I love Satoh Takeru, the younger cast really touched my heart. Well-written and interesting side characters as well. I loved everything about it

Tae Eun and Soo Ro are officially my favorite couple from all of the reality shows that I watched they are incredible

if I was bullied like she was there is no way that I would have waited literally decades to come up with a revenge plan (even the topic of revenge is honestly outdated). I wouldn’t have cared about the consequences I would have just went all the way in, ruin those bastards, damage their reputation, burn their houses.. ruin their lives while they are still young and not wait until they become rich and powerful adults… I can go to prison or die with them I don’t care but I could have never waited two decades no matter how smart her revenge plan is. So I kept telling myself even if she gets her revenge now they have already lived good and comfortable lives and she has wasted all of her youth, it’s too late now, she should have acted sooner. On the other hand, let’s say that they would have framed me of something and I went to prison or that they would have killed one of my relatives, then yes I would have come up with a long term plan to clear my name because law and justice takes time but for what she was going through required immediate action in my opinion

I watched and ‘enjoyed’ the show but here is my issue with the plot but that might be just me:

People sympathize with the victims in kdramas but when the same actors playing the victims on screen are exposed as bullies/predators in real life, we minimise the damage and defend them? The irony...

Unpopular opinion but I loved Eun Byeol+Han Yi An couple more than Eun Bi+Tae Kwang, even through they had little screen time I loved how Han Yi An cared for Eun Byeol, and I am pissed that the writers did him so dirty like all of a sudden it's ok if he likes the other twin... and Tae Kwang deserved better
