it was interesting at first but I think that it got kinda messy once they disovered the old maid's husband. I…
I wouldn’t say they excel at their jobs but they are quick to adapt into a new environment, that’s what they do, they are pro swindlers and that’s how they survive, like parasites. Also the rich family doesn’t really « trust » them, they fired the previous maid and the driver without any concern, because they don’t care about these people as long as they don’t cause them trouble. I remember someone said in the movie « they are rich and still nice » and the mother answered, « they are nice because they are rich », their « kindness » is an empty shell, to me they are just another kind of parasites
wait, so did gi woo buy the house or is that his imagination? im still mind fucked
It's only in his imagination . If I remember well I think he was writing a letter to his dad expressing his will to work hard and buy the house. I think (and this is just my personal opinion) that this scene where he becomes successful and buys the house is only an illusion, a false hope given by the system that if you work hard you'll achieve your goals, but you see at the end that he is still stuck in their basement home. Considering that nothing in this movie is left to chance, I believe it illustrates the pessimistic view of the director on the Korean society and is a way to say that while the rich will get richer, the poor will always remain poor.
There are some people out there who cannot appreciate what is different, symbolistic, and original like this movie…
Totally agree, I wish people would stop watching movies that do not interest them and then come here and talk shit about them when clearly they didn’t understand anything, like one person above who thinks that the movie was about « how far one would go for money? » haha
Had to stop it after 30 min because I can’t take it seriously. The premise was good but the way it is executed…
Also that moment at the press conference when the female journalist asks about the killer’s Skincare routine .. Why just why? This is so unrealistic that actually made me feel that the screenwriter is a fucking sexist
Had to stop it after 30 min because I can’t take it seriously. The premise was good but the way it is executed is ridiculous. The scenes with the snakes hurt my eyes, total bullshit
Amazing Chinese family drama, phenomenal acting, realistic and touching story. Ming Hu is one of the strongest female lead I’ve seen and my favorite character ever ... I don’t usually watch Chinese dramas but this one was such a good surprise, definitely recommended
Started off promising but like most dramas, ended up disappointing. I was most interested by the complex characters that I loved and their evolutions but their development and finale decisions were rushed and sometimes left unexplained. The drama focused more on some meaningless cases instead of the main characters storylines. Still a good watch through, really addictive in the beginning, similar vibe to Misty, drama with more mature characters and intense atmosphere. The music was great and played a really important part in this drama (except that one Katy Perry song in the elevator scene ?? haha) and I loved the side characters as well, great cast!
Descendants of the sun: it’s a masterpiece
Parasite: it’s overrated
