Questions:
NH, A gentle person who values even an animal, how can the same person lays his hands on the weak and innocent woman? (In the earlier episodes, he did attempt to kill SYM).

And some people blaming her for distrusting NH?

The building of NH characters is weird. The writer needs to learn from “the love better than immortality” script if he/she wants to portray how we can’t judge book by its cover.

I think the script writer really messed by having the ML attempting to kill the FL in the earlier eps. In ep23,…

The fate between SYN and NH is an ill-fated one based on the original script. To flip from that to the legendary love story needs an earth shaking situation (slim chance but still possible). The key is on the process which is undoubtedly not short. We saw it already, although the outcome is still same but the motive is different. I have my faith on SYM and NH.

She did try to eliminate him, and she knows the story is favoring him because he is the ML. And she does not feel…
Yes, I got your point. Hence, people want her to easily warming up to NH is unrealistic for me. SYM being silly and still kind is the best scenario. If she is smart, her reaction will be eliminating all of the people NH care the most (remember, she cant kill NH). If she is love-brain, her reaction will be how SYT behave in this drama.

SYM is being too kind and lenient to NH already. If I have a prophecy about events unfolded in the future (so far 99.99% happened) including the demise of all of your family and herself becomes a vegetative person, I will do extreme to NH.

What SYM did so far to NH cant be even called ruthless, at best empty threatening. I dont understand how everyone can be a saint giving the same condition as SYM. SYM not audiences like us. If SYM easily trust and fall in love to NH, then she has likely a masochist tendency.

The story’s interesting for me because I want to know how NH convince SYM that he is worthy the trust SYM yearn.

I'm curious, if you found your lover in such a compromising position, would you sit, listen and brush it off immediately?…

it's totally not unreasonable, but the way her words are when talking about NH is just keyboard warrior level…
But..but she told that to LSL (without knowing he is NH). She only want to share part of her worries and helplessness to the one she think she can trust, for survival. Even, her schemes are clumsy and easy to dismantle by a season political figure like NH. From the start, SYM is doomed to fail if NH is ever as ruthless as the script.

NH is miserable, YES. But we are viewer only know that because we know how the whole stories unfolded. SYM doesn’t know that. For my POV, what SYM did so far showed that she is a kind-hearted girl. Never really bring harm to NH.

They're releasing 4 eps today. I hope we'll get real good ones.
Don’t give us false hope. Where do you get the info? I’m excited!!

If I were NH, I will play along with SYM. I bet SYM will run faster than leopard by then, LOL. But our NH has zero experience in love area, or he just enjoy watching SYM approaching him by purpose. I mean, with less effort, NH’s dream lover comes by herself. Though the intention is not pure, with NH ability and sincerity, it’s just a matter of time that SYM will embrace NH’s love.

That's the highlight of the eps, only minus the silliness of the sister's plot. I felt like ff to watch SYM with…
I literally ignore the sister’s plot. I reserve my seat for NH and SYM road to become a legendary couple.

Low-key, I get why Yimeng is still keeping her guard up even by Episode 20. She tried so hard, believing she was…
Finally, someone with clear mind. I am eager to know how the drama solving the ill fated curse between NH and SYM.

wow today's comments aren't looking good, i haven't even watched the episodes yet and i feel unmotivated 🤣…
Dear, i am in the minority here. The last two episodes are my fav so far, except SYT scenes, LOL. I really enjoy NH helplessness toward SYM antiques. I need to find my own SYM in my life, she is hilarious.
On A Dream within a Dream Jul 3, 2025
Sorry guys. I like the last two episodes a lot. Finally some bonding moments with NH instead of LSL. NH is so amused with SYM. If I were NH, I will fall for her as well. My black and white life will be colored.

My friend, Have you seen English in ancient times? Chemistry equations? This was a historical drama script...but…
Dear friend, you’re right. Thank you for your pointers. Now I can watch the drama with ease.

I really don’t want CGH to go to the road of villain. So far, no one is really evil here (err..maybe except the emperor). All is a bunch of misinformation and misunderstanding. All of the NPC in the script need to start the rebellion against the scriptwriter. I mean he/she prohibits the change of trajectory for the better. Other transmigration series is not the cruel.

I think CGH was going to propose during the Lantern Festival with the special fireworks, but that didn't work…
Ohh No, poor CGH!! I just remember that he prepare fireworks for SYM.

Title A Dream within a Dream Spoiler
Yes, the engagement between Chu Guihong and Song Yimeng still exists—it was arranged when they were young. But…
Thank you for your insight. I am surprised that the engagement still exists. SYM acts too friendly with males which is weird for ancient people perspective.

If that’s the case I hope SYM acts decisively by canceling the engagement formally as in ancient time engagement is a matter between two big families.

Hope that the misunderstanding between SYM-Nanheng-CGH resolve soon. I also dont like the idea that Nanheng will have an affair with Yiting and CGH will die based on script so I understand why SYM choose LSL as a love partner. It’s a pity, LSL is Nanheng’s other persona.
On A Dream within a Dream Jun 30, 2025
I have questions:
1. The engagement between CGH and SYM is still existed or not? If yes, Why CGH still need to propose her again?
2. In ancient time, woman get married early, how come SYM still not get married at 22 (?) years old?
Replying to Jungarden Jun 30, 2025
I’m apparently in the minority here but I don’t get the 2ML hate. I kinda like him oops
I am neutral between Nanheng and CGH. So far CGH has never mistreated SYM, he cares for her on his own way. Whereas Nanheng at first wanted to manipulate SYM and even attempted to kill her, though with time he fell for her instead.

One thing that makes CGH is likely lost from Nanheng, whenever SYM and CGH have a different pov on how to solve the problem, CGH mostly choose the worst way to communicate it with SYM (in the end, CGH will still compromise for SYM, at least in front of her). While Nanheng is willing to follow whatever SYM wants to do and clean up the mess for her. For a woman, Nanheng is more appealing, LOL.

However, both undoubtedly love SYM in their own way.

And for everyone that blaming the CGH, I think he is acting like how his character is supposed to be, and I believe…
CGH wont be a villain just based on recent trajectory. At most, he is a little bit selfish for protecting the people he care the most. People is complaining that he throw the moonshade group under the bus. For me it makes sense, he doesn’t even trust them due to the implication of the group under NH control. He agrees to collaborate with them under SYM pressure (out of love for her, compromising is natural in relationship). SYM herself is just naive due to her upbringing from modern world. NH is not villain as well but he is not saint either. What make this drama appealing for me is almost all of the character fall in grey area except SYM so far.
