I thought you keep writing your pov here because you also enjoy exchanging words with other audiences.
We clearly have different opinions about SYM behaviors towards NH.
Then maybe we can gain something different from NH’s side. It’s clear that NH is the one who keeps pursuing SYM even if SYM doesn't want to. No one blaming NH for forcing his feeling towards SYM.
But SYM has every rights and freedom to accept or reject it. Obviously, NH can not accept rejection, so he suffers from his own choice. He can move on, looking for a gentle girl like manman maybe. He chooses SYM instead, a thorny girl.
There are many type of flowers. Some people admire lily while others desire rose. That’s the beauty of life.

Good for you.

Let’s continue to discuss then. NH is an adult, he is not a naive person. He schemes his way back from cold palace to a formidable figure, he is no by means a weak and helpless prince. With his status, he can find whatever girl he desire. Yet he set his target and the wife he desire must be SYM. He turns deaf and blind by the objection of people around him. SYM even told him several times either implicitly and straight rudely to let go of her, but he insists and want to and must win her heart.

There must be a very good quality of SYM that makes him so stubborn.

NH ever said “SYM dignity is his dignity”. A mere pheasant like us can’t challenge the dignity of prince like him.

After reading today’s glowing comments, I allowed myself a flicker of optimism. Perhaps, at last, a glimmer…
Maybe this drama is not for you.

The FL character has been set by the director and scriptwriter. As much as we tried to rationalize with you, if you yourself already has a certain expectation (for exp. you expect her to behave like FL from other drama), no amount of words will convince you and taking the joy for watching drama itself.

Watch a drama that makes you enjoy more instead of keeping dissatisfied with here and there. Just a suggestion, you’re still welcome if you don’t think so.

Side note: Some argue the FL’s actions are justified. But tell me—what reasonable person stabs someone in…
NH will always be at advantage position. He is the man from that period, very well verse at scheming, have abundant resources and a golden child of the scriptwriter (he is ML afterall). He can change narrative whatever he wants and still can be the final winner. SYM is different, the script they give to her is too miserable, imagine being a vegetative as your final end, you will be a vigilant person for sure. Who wants to bet your life being a vegetative especially when you have a prophecy? If you are okay with that, good for you. Don’t count me in 🫣

You forget that as LsL, he had intention to kill her as well but fail due to script rule. Fortunately, SYM misunderstood him as a hero sent by God, kept defending him from NH, hence NH fall for her instead. If not, Both as LSL or NH, the ML will still continue his attempts to kill SYM. It’s not wrong for SYM to distrust NH with that narrative.

This and being vegetative. How can they make reasoning for those are beyond my imagination

Tbh- I haven’t been disappointed at FL lead at all. I appreciate how the story is playing out BUT I did read…
This drama is not about a rebirth and revenge drama with super smart FL like “the double”. SYM is just a normal girl from modern world.

HONESTLY IT'S SO EMBARRASSING to go through comments and see that almost all of them are insulting FL!! 🤦🏻Like…
Thank you!! You explain better than me.
I second you, let’s curse the emperor!!
For CGH, his scheme is not even on par with NH. If he wants to go down the path of villain, step up the game. So we can see an interesting battle of wit between NH and him.

Tbh there are beloved MLs who have gone around torturing, choking FLs destroying their self esteems and more and…
At the end, NH is male lead blessed with all the luck in the world of drama (based on the og script). No one care with how miserable SYM originally.

The one problem with this drama (at least right now) is SYM is intensely unlikeable. Self-involved, incredibly…
SYM is indeed not an intelligent woman with intricate schemes behind her sleeve. She is a normal citizen from modern period. Knowing that, it is wise to guard against everyone (esp NH) as from the og script NH is the key of her downfall. There are so many examples that being good in front of you meaning he/she is really good (plus you have og script in your hand).
Only us know that the drama is actually romance genre, what would you expect from her then?

What shocks me most from all these comments is how possible it is for some people to fall prey to shady characters…
For real! That is SYM in the original script, fall prey from NH.
SYM is wise because she knows her weaknesses very well. She is modern person and not good at intricate schemes, so she chooses the most safe routes: 1. Avoid NH at all cost (he is ML, no one can defeat him) 2. Distrust all involved in the script. Unfortunately the scriptwriter is smarter than SYM, he/she create LSL to make the plot happened.
On A Dream within a Dream Jul 5, 2025
Even the director needs to step down from the altar to explain some logics about SYM and NH characters. Actually SYM is one the consistent character in this drama. All of her action in line with her character. She tried hard to cut ties with NH and avoid him at all cost but the script not allow that. Fortunately NH is good person (behind his cruel persona), if NH is not and he is good at disguise, SYM will be dead for sure if she easily believe NH. Sad that she is getting hate unnecessarily.

SYM lied to him first. Way back in Ep2 and 3 she was less than honest about why NH cannot control his movements…
That’s my point. SYM doesn’t know NH is LSL, so her action is directed toward the ruthless NH.
My complain is how the scriptwriter messing up with NH and LSL characters. If I remember correctly, NH ever used LSL persona in order to kill SYM and that become the start of misunderstanding in the later part.

The example of a more believable villain turn hero is the drama that I mentioned above.

However, I still adore NH so much and rooting him with SYM. I just can’t stand people blaming SYM. Both are with fault and they work hard to correct their mistake.

But..but..the so called gentle NH who supposed to be rescuing even a weak animal resorting killing move to a weak woman like SYM? He can give lesson to SYM using thousand different ways instead of killing her. If there’s no script rule, SYM has been dead without a burial place.

Yes, SYM is not being fault but NH is not a saint as well.
