Honestly, I don’t really understand all the negativity around this drama. If I relied only on MDL ratings these…
yet as an independent title (not a remake), this show is quite mediocre (definitely not bad, though), slightly boring, and unevenly paced

Title Siren’s Kiss Spoiler
bc in the original she was the villain
Well, this character, by the middle of the main plot in the original version, already has her own little side story; but at first you suppose that she is part of the policeman's plotline, depicting what kind of man he is. Finally, it turns out that she was connected with FL's former lover. When he fell in love with FL, then went abroad and died, she became lonely, helpless, and jealous and chose to kill anyone who got close to FL. Even when she married the policeman-at first with no purpose but her own happiness-when FL reappears in her life she falls into a spiral of hate and self-pity, ends up killing two more people, and exploits him by sending an anonymous letter that blames someone unknown at FL's workplace. Ah, not to mention she was raped by her cop husband while panicking and trying to avoid living where her enemy lived. Such a complex character; I personally had lost this astonishing ending with a stunning performance in the remake - here's just no such thing at all.

The photographer’s little sister, someone please stomp on her. I’m so fed up
In the original show, the analogue of this character was actually one who was killed by the villain, but that character was much more likable, though.

Does Korea seriously let the cops browbeat suspects in an interrogation room without a lawyer present ? And do…
I think they just borrowed this scene from Ice World (as many good plot devices). In the original, the police examination of FL was absolutely scary. They attacked her with aggressive questions and even bawled hour after hour.

Is there any sympathetic character left in the show? Perhaps the ML? In my opinion, they have dumbed him down…
In the Japanese original, FL has the same fate (only the last three (sorry, four) deaths were arranged by a jealous killer), but the delivery was completely different and quite plausible.

⚠ If you haven't watched it you might get spoiled So guys I was planning to wait for it finish airing so that…
This definitely isn't the main plot twist (yet, I think), and the stalking and plastic surgery thing is even more complicated than you've already learned. (But for me, the remake is so makjang.)

Enjoying it for the most part, however, it starts to get repetitive. Another cliffhanger where the scene suggests…
Original FL was stalked and manipulated by more than one jealous person, which wasn't very realistic, and the repetition of the same pattern as there in the original, in my opinion, was somehow boring too.

i don’t believe the original version was like this too because that has do many good reviews. I don’t know…
Well, the original isn't exactly mind-blowing either, but what it did have was a good pace and a narrative well-balanced between melodrama and mystery, where every character felt authentic, along with a very strong ensemble cast (not to say the remake is worse in that regard, but it's certainly no better).

Its my first time watching a Jdrama, or even just an Asian movie/show like this. I didnt have much expectations,…
Try at least DESTINY: The Tale of Kamakura, if this request is actual currently. Not quite the same, but it has a similar vibe.

is this plot following the original japanese version?
Not quite. The character who was the main villain in the original has just two scenes in this version, although in the original (s)he already had his/her own side storyline, and the first fiance of the FL in the original really died in a war accident.

The problem with this remake is that FL in school form looks just like weird adult cosplayer and this ruined the show. It's not about the acting, she simply doesn't fit physically. In the original Korean show FL was fit in as schoolgirl perfectly.

what do you mean? Tver has only japanese subtitles 🤔
I hope that's not machine translation. This method can work, but with less different languages than English and Japanese: for example, French and English, or perhaps Korean and Japanese, and not only is the grammar very different, but Japanese itself is a massively context-dependent language. The result may be complete mess.

Well, at least we know about these pigeons in the very first frames. Very well written script with some carefully hidden easter eggs, very well acted too. And absolutely diamond child actors.
