This shows that a person’s passion for his or her job can be rekindled when s/he no longer has to work just to make a living. The impetus behind the ML’s wake-up call is a winning lottery ticket, which changes his attitude towards his work, rather than his lifestyle. He becomes less isolated along the way and creates a found family among his colleagues.
This drama is primarily character driven. I don’t know enough about the corporate world the characters inhabit to know whether the corporate maneuverings were realistic. I thought that the CEO’s action towards one of the characters in the last episode was odd and I feel that the ML should have at least considered whether he would want to continue to work for a company whose leadership would sacrifice an employee just to teach him a lesson. But many of the characters, including Sales Manager Park and Deputy Manager Yang, were great.
There are no serial killers lurking, no fraught romances, no chaebols, and no spitting up blood. This drama was a good palate cleanser for me after watching too many overwrought (but very fun!) dramas.
