You have to be Hwansu level to soul shift without the ice stone and the soul ejectors. Like Master Lee. Naksu as we know definitely is not at that level - yet. We don't really know much about My Doek/Bu Yeon so can't say if she has reached that level or not.
The blue soul shifter mark was in their eyes and only faded because Jang Uk got eye drops for My Deok. The eye drops are what made the blue soul ejector mark fade. There's no blue mark on Mu Deok's body because Bu Yeon's soul never left the body. The blue soul shifter marks in Mu Deok's eyes probably has something to do with Bu Yeon being blind and having special abilities because of the ice stone.

Well I'm pretty sure they're going to separate Bu Yeon and Naksu by the end of season 1. Or kill Bu Yeon off. The latter is highly unlikely since Bu Yeon is shown to be very strong. So we're definitely going to see Naksu's soul come out of Mu Deok/Bu Yeon's body. There are theories that Naksu might return to her original body - and that the body wasn't actually burned or that the ice stone maybe used to bring her body back. This we'll have to wait and watch.

Those short cuts, specifically Jang Uk reaching Chisu level by catching the Golden fish only work for Uk because he's born with the King's star and is born a genius. Naksu will have to learn it the long way.

He liked CP's reaction in terms of not being against Sapsali coming into the palace and finding the soul shifters. Since the King and CP weren't against it and the "Queen" got worked up and was against the whole thing, Master Lee was able to find out that the "Queen" is a soul shifter and not the King or CP. I rewatched the episode and other than the fact that Naksu had no recollection of what happened, we see a brief moment of Naksu and Bu Yeon in the AoS dimension/plane. I believe this was the first incident where Bu Yeon saved Naksu.
