If by common you mean there are many romcoms that drag, I am sure they are. As they are draggy thrillers, draggy horrors, etc. But there are romcoms that aren't draggy at all. And many of them. A drama everyone might know. You're beautiful... To me it never never dragged, not for a tiny second. May be it did for someone else. But then, that person may watch a thriller that is draggy for me.
And the examples are tons. Draggy is about the person's interest. That's why it isn't an 'objective' but a 'subjective' evaluation. And this s why I said, that it's about preferences.

I think if you can wait, then watching when it's full, is nice, too.
But you should know i used to like romcoms. I mean, I do like the genre. But it was when I was watching the older korean ones. 2000-2008/9 may be. The recent ones do not match my taste. If I pick a romcom today, it'll be chinese. But it's not often when I do.
These days, I read more than I watch. Danmei mostly:) And I think my very last favourite romance was Utsukusii kare, the japanese bl.

I always start for an actor. I but I can't stay only for an actor. And this is why the number of dramas I have dropped is huge. Best reason is XZ:) but I am watching the drama because I enjoy it.

I I agree with the fact, that a person's expectations should be in accordance with the genre. But I do not agree with your formulation. Because it is exactly because of this that the opposite of suspense or any other genre, is not called draggy.
I have seen many romances, that were enjoyable from the first to the last second. Including this one, so far. And I have rewatched many of them. And I have dropped thrillers in the past...
It all comes down to personal preferences.

I am trying to see why you wouldn't like her. You asked about qualities. Isn't she a good friend? Every time FL has an issue, she immediately calls SanSan. She found her a doctor when FL needed it, and SanSan helps her with small and big things... She is very outgoing, friendly, confident. She'll be solidary with FL, no matter what. She's easy to communicate with. Take our ML. SanSan communicates so naturally with him, that he'll accept her as FL's friend immediately:) She's lighthearted, and fun. And she likes to hang out:) I'd like a friend like that, and I actually do have one:)
