room for both, idol worship has always been a thing that propels the entertainment industry. not just another pretty face is up to the individual. look at the amount of work these stars put out , often multiple shows per year. so it becomes a business model more than an art. and their contracts make them do promotion work constantly. i'm sure not easy to be in that limelight all the time. the whitening of these actors is concerning , they end up looking like porcelain dolls instead of real humans. I'm sure that's tough on their skin. and all this pushed by the industry. for me the side characters in these dramas are what makes for great dramas that and a rich story line. such a wonderful mix of incredibly talented people when it all comes together well.
I really enjoyed this story. Just a taste of the difficulties facing peoples fight against corruption looking for a better life. The acting and production was great. I even enjoyed the soundtrack. Left me wanting to learn more about this time period in China. Any recommendations appreciated .
great actor, while I love him as a villain would love to see him in leading roles, maybe too old ? since all the roles i see in major shows are very young actors. not a great thing. anyway this man is incredibly good.
