SYR and Wanning were way more interesting to watch than Li Zhong Nan and Lord Cheng for example. Having fleshed out the villains so well is only a plus to the show and its plot. I'd say the actors did really well, i until the last moment was mesmerised with how they were presented and behaved.

Yeah, that'd be the closest to the novel they can get - her surviving and hiding in Xiao Jue's camp. That way they can skip the original He Yan storyline where she needs to be almost raped and Yunsheng killing that Fan young master lol. They can also add her being unable to use her body as she should hence why she needs training etc. As for the cast - well i love the choice of actors as well. Now i cannot imagine He Yan looking kike anyone else other than Zhou Ye, the same goes for Xiao Jue and Cheng Lei.

Thats if only we have a second He Yan, else they may make the OG He Yan survive the attempt and probably bypass the whole rebirth plot.

They will do it just as she described it to Jing Xing - she said after she fell in the cold lake, she had a long long dream in which she married Fu Xiu Yi, became the Empress, gave birth to two kids and the rest. Then when she was killed by the eunuchs, she woke up from the dream. I am scared of how they will for He Yan, as its a real rebirth in another's body lol.

I agree with all of this 👏. They knew in what they were getting and they are both to blame. He may not have been what he became at the beginning, but gradually became it even faster with Wanning in the game.

I did not say he is innocent lol. He too is wrong for doing what he did, but the emphasis was on Wanning not SYR. Him picking up that handkerchief may have been delibarate from his side, but he clearly told her he is married so they both knew what they are getting into. When SYR did what he did, he did it while being pressured in some form from both sides (XFF excluded, she didnt know); whereas Wanning initiated all this just to have him look at her the same way he looks at his wife and own him. One driven by benefits and one driven by crazy obsession to own the person they fell in love with. We were shown or hinted with second guessing and guilt in SYRs character, but were shown nothing but psychotic love and obssession in Wanning's one. While he is responsible for what he did, she is also responsible for how he turned up, cuz please there is no way she didn't initiate Shen mom's threatening with suicide, and pressure him into taking an action be it divorce or nunnery (she thought she was lucky he chose to 'kill' XFF), she is that kind of manipulative.

But like, can you blame him - he didnt want her, she offered herself to him. Also, she was the one that fell in love with him (while he was in love with his wife) then destroyed him, reduced him to what he is today, and is even half responsible for his killing his wife. Culmination was Wanning saying Shen YuRong's love for her compared to XH's love for Jiang Li is lacking. Like wanning doesnt even realise she was the one that inserted herself where she wasnt even needed in the 1st place, why'd she expect him to love her the same amount he once loved his wife or how XH loves XFF. That was a pure love, not one that had ties to power or oppression which is her imposed love to SYR. She is really deluded at this point.

Please, Wanning doesnt trust anyone, even SYR. She was sceptical with how much of a coward he is, that he'd kill his wife lol. Also in her original plan, XFF was to die from her hand not SYRs i think.

Yeah and ep 36 looks the most interesting with Li Jin being married to Wanning and also with whatever XH was grounded with for 2 days lol. Also seems like Great Zhao will push for JiuYue and XH marriage 😩😩😩
