I don’t know the relation between characters but this is set after A Moment but Forever. In the intro they explain that Yuan Zhong and the human race worked together to wipe out the war ghost tribe.

A serious historical drama sounds great! Hopefully it’s true! I love Allen in costume dramas.

These are all Xianxia/fantasy but completely different stories and characters. Apart from these 3 he did many different projects.
Under The Power for instance is a great Wuxia with case solving elements and a wonderful romance but also comedy. Legend of white snake is also Xianxia but completely different again from the 3 you mentioned. The Blue Whisper is fantasy but again completely different. And below Optimistic Ritz pointed out the others.

He‘s not at all picking the same scripts. He had to do Love and Crown and Fate Chooses You to get out of the contract. Apart from that he chose many different projects. And of course every actor/actress has certain things he/she does best. Nothing wrong with doing such things time and again in different forms.

Rewatching this gem while waiting for Fate Chooses You to release on Saturday. It’s still my favourite RJL drama ❤️Both leads absolutely awesome acting.
