It’s a very satisfying ending imo! They go to university together instead of her going alone. The ending wraps up their story in a happy and meaningful way. No need to show us their babies etc.

Well ML surname is Fang, not Feng. And he likes to splurge when possible. Also I don’t see him as someone who likes to uphold socialist values. And he is certainly not uneducated.
