His state of mind is that whole kissing scene about. He loves her, but he also scared of having her. He begs her to be with him, listed all the reasons why she should. At the same time, tried to scare her so she run away from him. Right after the kiss, he said “what’s now? You are going to run?”. Remember their last conversation, she ran. But that whole conversation is his push n pull. He wants to be with her so badly, but he also has so much controls, that normally he would be cold/indifferent toward her. And that’s why on their meeting at the Jiang family, he said nothing 😭
To the people being outrage by the kiss, if someone saved your life multiple times and put their life at risk…

Very true. You are right about JXN. Because she has been a pure and good girl this life, we forgot she’s very experience 😅 It was such a mess up scene, he was everywhere. But upon rewatching, I understand him and it’s so sad. He push and pull her, and how sad it is that the thought of k**ling himself has always been there and he has been fighting it off.

Btw, that scene seems so mess up to me on first watch. One second he said I let you go, but it’s now too late. Next second he kisses her with passion. Then next second, he is like you should run (I think he’s saying his abusive kiss should make her run for her life). Then next second he’s begging her to stay and be with him. He has so much turmoils within. He doesn’t want her to go, but he want to use all his might to capture her. But he knows she doesn’t love him, so he wants to make her despite/scare of him so he would say/do horrible things for her to run off. That’s why JXN said I’m not leaving.
