Yes, not many people knows about YZ, and because of this, he keeps making drama. And only until recently he got soft ban. And if it wasn’t for this soft ban, he wouldn’t even bother go buy the right of the novel that “Scent of time” is based on. Basically he only buy the novel right to be clear of plagiarism while in fact he still is. I was fine with his series before I know about this, too. Until I found out he copied the famous Taiwanese author, Chiung Yao (that’s right, the author of my fair princess and many other classic of the 90s). I wouldn’t say I grew up watching her stuffs, but dramas based on her book was the hot cakes at the time, and it does have this addictive quality lol. Anyway, not only he outright copied her ideas, and didn’t give her credit, but he also claimed it’s all his own genius thoughts 😒 n that’s why ppl hates him.
Another thing is say the production team has to scout a good script, write it, get actresses and actors for the roles, doing the best they can at every step. Yu Zheng has good eye for knowing which scripts will be explosive, and so he would pick that script, do a quicker version of it, make sure it come out before the other one, but only after the other spend advertising budget to hype it up. And then drop his drama to satisfy people’s thirst. In a sense, he undercut the legitimate guys, reduce the heat that the other drama deserve, and now in a sense smearing the other drama as being a copy (because it comes out after 🙄😒). That’s why his drama is just evil.

I stop watching YZ’s dramas because while his dramas are decent, he plagiarised other people’s works, claiming it’s his own. But you can see it’s no coincidence that he always has similar drama as the highly anticipated one 🙄
