Uhm, actually YH making her blind is the best outcome for SuSu. If YH didn’t take the initiative, she might get worse punishment. YH trust SuSu didn’t do it, but he needs to resolve this issue fast n this make everything and everyone happy (apart from 1, which he thinks it’s ok as he will always be there for her as her eyes)

lol, the strangling thing is a bit much, and I’m not arguing that isn’t a red flag. He’s grey, he’s sick, he’s in a sense mentally not well. While I’m not giving a pass to everything a ML does because he has mental issues, I’m more lenient and looking at the whole thing rather than just the act. The character meant to be flawed, and this is his flaws. And even now, reading the book, he would start with these kinda violent behaviour, choking her, holding her hands tightly until she’s in pain, but once he noticed she’s in pain, he would let it go, and I think we need to see his progression. He was a person that was scarred since 7, his enemy saved him, raise him like a son yet does not mind giving him a beating, nor kill him.
And not once he tried to interfere with FL and ZZ’s relationship. At best, he cooked a banquet of sour food to let her know he’s jealous but he didn’t force her to eat it all.
Last and not least, ML didn’t get a pass for choking her and forced kissing lol. If you read the reviews up there, there were some outright shunning this drama for ML’s behaviours. I would say because you are not weibo, you think he get a pass. Whereas kdrama fans are large on MDL so it looks like Korean actor doesn’t get a pass but Chinese actor do. I think both don’t get a pass lol.

In the ancient time, when woman has no power, showing her she has power over his life is manipulative? For such a cunning man, do you think playing nice and waited for her for years will help him open her eyes to his heart? Because whatever nice things he did, she will reason it is because of this and that, and gloss over the fact that oh, he actually love her.
And his saying, lol, you actually fall victim to his manipulation if you think there is a chance he will do that. This is why FL said “you know people’s heart” (aka he knows how to lay the seeds of doubts and make you fear him without actually doing anything). Making other scared of his words does not mean he really is manipulating her. In one of the ending episode (cliffhanger to the next episode), he said he did not use her or manipulate her. But if you are convince he’s manipulating her, please give me an example where he did something to manipulate how she feel/react, that isn’t the stabbing scene 😜 and yes, he’s hot lol

This bugs me, so what happen to the power of chaos? The tribulation of chaos? Is it still going? Is it gone for good?

I’m with the grey crowds here. Human life aren’t just black or white, red or green. You can start as one colour then by the end of your life, you will become another, same with relationship. It’s unrealistic to brand it one colour. To me, XW started out flaw, he might have questionable actions toward FL (choking her, forcing kisses), however, his actions never go pass certain moral cutoffs. For people who want a clean cut, wrong is wrong, ML is a red flag, you can’t argue at all 😒 for reasonable people, it’s a lot more complex. Some relationship can start out at questionable ground, but like everything, time will tell. A relationship can start out perfectly fine, perfectly normal, and the person can be also fine and normal to start, but he can turn horrible by the end and so would the relationship. Rather than just branding it red flag or green flag, you have to look at the whole picture, the couple unit. While we don’t see them much as husband and wife, we did however see how they work together and separately. We also see how both not knowing what the other up to, just know the other is up to something, yet they both have complete trust at each other, and willing to go with whatever outcome the other’s actions might result in. And that to me is as green as green can be.

Ok, one thing I want to clarify is that the act of stabbing himself is not suicidal, so it does not hold the same emotional manipulation as someone threaten you with his life. This stabbing act is so that she understands he would not take her life, the power lays with her, not him. So not the same thing at all
