Qing gong is using internal force to leap you higher than your usual jump. If you have seen TVB return of the condor heroes (95/96), when they are injured (internal forces got messed up), they don’t leap nor jump like that with ease lol. Basically, I’m expecting Jackie chan level of jumping in modern action movies lol. You can cleverly step jump to get you high up, but not one leap over a 2m wall without sound. That’s why better internal force = better leaping/jumping with minimal sound. Obviously you can train to have special Qing gong techniques to compensate your lack of internal force, but this usual mentioned to tell you your hero has some handicap (aka Duan Yu in Demi-gods and semi-devils). Point is a good wuxia needs to establish the hero, handicap him in some fashion, and show his growth. Don’t introduce handicap then next second throw it out of the window.

This is a political intrigue slow burn romance kinda drama. It’s not the harem politics like yanxi palace/ruyi/legend of the empress. It’s not the type of drama where the leads were together in the first 6 eps either. It’s also not a drama to watch just because lol, you actually have to pay attentions. In wuxia, it’s common to have the hero’s internal force all messed up to create a sense of danger and urgency. A good wuxia would show how the hero operate without using his internal force. This show, right off the bat, at ep 1 show FL suppose to lose her internal force, but she can quietly leap over an at least 2m wall without being detected 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ suddenly what’s the point of no internal force 😑 if she can still flying around quietly like a bird. The only reason is so that she got stuck with ML, which is weak, because again, it should show how witty and street smart the hero is 😖
Come on, come on! It's wuxia. Lots end like that, and everybody did not end up being sent to other plane of existence…
One and only with BL and RJL? That’s not a wuxia, that’s just historical romance. And unlike this one, everyone who went into it knows it’ll end in tragedy for part 2 to happen. They even outright off the bat show the scene where she jumps off the gate. They didn’t market it as dandelion, they market as tragedy romance 😒
Actually return of the condor heroes is wuxia but the romance is top notch. You can be a serious wuxia, while having super romantic relationship. Wuxia is about a journey of a hero/a group of heroes. But the drama was trying too hard to have too many characters, and because of it, it couldn’t put the depth into the FL. FL was a cold assassin, wouldn’t her romantic feeling and how she develops love for ML be given quite strong priority? As it’s part of her character’s development? But by making them falling in love so fast, you lost that push and pull of an exciting romance.

She might still look beautiful for you and others. But I’m explaining why to me and some, she doesn’t appear as beautiful anymore. And I did also mention many judge beauty on a different level, some based on facial, some based on acting (me, you can throw all the beautiful face actors at me, and none would impress me on first look until I see a character that they kill it). I have to say her two performances are miles better than the past performances (sorry to say but past performance, her singing has no power, feel more lip sync than actual singing, barely any dancing/no thrived or passion in those dance moves). But these two performances are very good, keep it up
