They need to find out who really gave the order to release those arrows; I still think it’s NZ/that dude in…
Yes indeed, they really need to show who did it and let the FL know. From recent episode it shows Na Zhan is connected to all the emperors in each region and just conspiring and causing havoc. Ep 20 preview also shows the messenger was the one who gave the order which seems to be ML brother and Na Zhan's ploy

I don’t know what everyone is complaining about. I’ve watched a lot of dramas and compared to some, this one…
The pace slowed down for many episodes but I'm actually back to enjoying it. I liked ep 17! I also think 1 episode a day is another culprit, it makes one lose interest and also feels like the plot ia moving at all. If we had two episodes per day we would have not felt it too slow 🥲

Episode 17🔥🔥 this is getting interesting, everyone who dropped this should continue watch this again, just…
Same with my thoughts, I feel she saved him from the arrows cause they were surrounded and probably knows he is wearing the body armour
On Love in the Desert Oct 10, 2024
The pace is starting to pick up again and I'm back to enjoying the drama. I feel the FL actually saved the ML with that move once I saw them surrounded with so many arrows. She probably hugged him first to confirm he is wearing the body armour she made. She knew he wouldn't survive 100s of those arrows so she "push st*bbed" him into the water cause she's been at Juyun countless of times and knows it has a fast running water that will likely sweep him away before the guards could come close. Tbh the second st*b wasn't necessary but I think she got that in due to the pain/revenge.

Preview of ep 19 promises a mix of tension and romance. Anticipating that one

“Don’t open it unless I’m dead”. Pls don’t tell me this is foreshadowing 😭
Yep, if the emperor doesn't beat her to it (on the reveal)
On Love in the Desert Oct 7, 2024
Preview of next episode - I'm hesitant about it, the preview seems to suggest a possible endemic or so, but it's really not relevant to our plot. I feel most historical drama add an endemic as a form of checklist of things to portray of those era even if it doesn't move the plot forward.

But, let's see if this is different.

The note scene was so touching 💖. I agree with your theory of sharing he is the city Lord and he might also write the explanation of the mother situation in the note, that's why he doesn't want her to open while he's still alive

Na Zhan likes the ego boost a lot. I have not seen someone enjoy congratulations so much, even when they cook for him it's raining congrats smh.
He is lucky he is a fine man to compensate for this weirdness 😅

Title Love in the Desert Spoiler
It's truly 1 ep a day, this is torture! Thoughts on ep 12, marking as spoiler - (Best quote : "Let me selfishly…
• I wonder what Ruo Wen is still doing at the mansion, cause apparently it's been days. Is he looking for collaboration with both ML and FL to overthrow a city? Esp. as he helped ML. Or does he find them interesting and unconsciously looking for friendship? Cause I feel he is changing his mind about carrying out the abduction.
• Beishuang cutting herself with the pin, such fast thinking 👏
• I like how they filmed Qingyun hurt, it felt realistic. I always roll my eyes when actors hit by an arrow keep walking straight and fighting.
• We are almost halfway and plot is slower with recent episodes. I'm concerned about the pacing as we mostly keep seeing them spending time on the balcony (with no single guard in sight btw 😂)
• Finally SFL gets a bit of sense to open a restaurant. Something I expected of her when she was seeking independence in ep 1 and not being clingy with a 🚩 who also k* her entourage.

This is the kind of cdrama that makes you ask, "where has this been all this while?!" I was hooked less than 10 mins into it.
7 episodes in and its still waxing strong. Good acting chops, originality, let's not start on the chemistry, it's scorching 🔥. I already trust in Alen and how good he is since AJTL, but the FL I have never seen her. She is beautiful indeed and has that aura of a princess right from the very first scene. So far, a good definition of strong and smart FL.

OK let me go binge the rest. Hoping it is two episodes per day
On Melody of Golden Age Sep 7, 2024
I have binged-watched this drama up to ep 21 so far. I randomly picked it up when I saw a scene on X(Twitter); and in the beginning episodes I was kicking my legs up in the air and giggling with joy. Because it had interesting arc, smart leads, grey ML, strong and assertive FL who actually enjoys her 9-5 career in the historical era 🤩. The leads became my fav couple of the year. UNFORTUNATELY, it has started to go downhill. The slow burn romance is rapidly burning away my patience and they are starting to deplete the character of FL. She's becoming an ungrateful and annoying character that keeps getting into trouble even after so many warnings. For some reason, I think if she actually gets hurt then she might stop being reckless. If she wants to keep being ungrateful and reckless, she can learn some fighting skills then I will totally understand.

The main lead romance was starting to frustrate (continually putting a romantic air whenever they are treating their injury is not cutting it for me; concentrate on injury first), that I started looking forward to LCC and the masked man. But then they made LCC so dumb and the terrible masked man using her so easily; so, I have cancelled that storyline. Now, I don't know what to hold onto. 😪 Let me continue though with the rest of episodes, maybe something changes!

PS - I have gone through the comment section and its very dramatic and holding onto the wrong things. The reasons most are calling the FL annoying in the comments is NOT what I'm seeing.  The only reason she can be deemed annoying is how ungrateful and inconsiderate she is with the ML. Also, this drama deserves a higher rating.

Btw Ji yang came back because Nan Yan used the 3 hearts/cores to bring him backit was said in a voice over (easily…
Oh interesting, now I get it 👍. I wish they explained it better in the voice over

Oops I just realised I forgot to rate this drama since I finished watching. Real rating is 8.5 but I am giving a 10/10 to support Zhang Linghe and JingTian's hardwork who were at a disadvantage due to internal conflict situation of the drama production.

Here's my pros and cons for the drama, I might turn it to a review :

Pros
- Really good acting by the main characters. Even the side characters didn't lack much in acting
- In the beginning it felt like a laid back historical Romcom and it was a feel good drama to relax and watch at the end of a day
- No unnecessary love triangle or misunderstandings, everyone knew where they stood from beginning to end. The ML and FL loved EO at all times, and there was no questions or doubts about it
- Interesting plot, started off too slow in the beginning but kicked off from episode 5
- This should not be part of a pro, but it was made up of eye candy casts 🤗. For the ML ZLH, he undoubtedly looked even more handsome here compared to all his other drama and the directors made sure to take all angles. Jing Tian is pretty as usual and even more breathtaking in her wedding look.
- The casts were well balanced. The ML felt like a ML, the FL same. MZT and Yin Ya also had their own
- The OSTs were amazing, and well utilised in every scene. I don't want to confess how many times I have played the "I wish" OST, so good 💖
- Amazing character development for Darren Chen (Yin Ya), I was soo shocked with the way he stuck by JY till the end
- It was crazy good with the way they made the Sen Luo possession dynamics funny. JY and Sen Luo were bickering most of the time.
- In general,  this was a historical romcom, with good relationship between friends and a happy ending. Sometimes, this is all we ask for and they delivered!

Cons
- Obvious ones such as editing issues, the ending of each episode were switched off like a TV. The worst was the last episode, they jumped from wedding scene to fight and to 3 years in a few mins. So many gaps to fill. No one even knew how JY was able to come back 3 yrs later. I mentioned this before in the beginning but the sound engineering was really poor with weird sound effects which destroyed the comedy. If I catch the sound engineer, it's on sight! Cause it was the main issue that affected the drama.
- Too much focus on side characters by mid-end. Also, we understand Nan Yan's mum is good, carefree and all, but we never had much time to care that deeply about her for all the storyline to be focused on her
- Not well paced, too much stories / revelations towards the end when there was literally not much happening in the beginning. Also, no OMG moment as we all knew who was the villain from beginning
- Ji Yang suffered too much, from the great path Sect to the sen luo drama. I don't think he ever got a moment of rest. They could have given us a flashback of his life as a Monarch. He was described as this great Monarch, but we never got much glimpse as the ruler, only the fugitive days. That would have helped show his happier days with the other members of the sect
- Yin's memory loss was not done well. We never knew when he regained memory of JY. Sometimes,  they show him remembering past events, other times he is asking NY about JY
- Obviously (and sadly), the target audience was pg 13, with the type of comedy and the not so fitting noises. They also tried to keep their romance too pure due to the the target audience; there was little attraction pull so, many might not feel the romance. Especially for two ppl who I'm sure didn't want to fall for each other, it could have been fun exploring their "I'm getting attracted to them or uh oh I'm falling for this person, damn", dynamics. Also, both ZLH and JT are known for their kissing prowess in C Ent but they were cut, minimal and kept it low cause of the target audience, aaargh!

In general,  this drama had promise; no budget, no promotions,  one of the producers left for an opposing company, so they literally made it an afterthought but it still survived and its very watchable.

Douban is as unreliable as any online drama scores like MDL, where scores may be manipulated by either the fans…
Same can be said for almost very data that exists out there, they can be manipulated in one way or the other. Only gullible ones will think all data cannot be manipulated in some way and thus tend to throw away all. In this case I'm cheering for the one people regard more even though its manipulated just like every other data!

Feel free to also go to all other dramas which have their douban score to say its manipulated and to make your separate comments.
For now, it opened with a score of 6.5 on Douban and we cheer!! 👏🤌

6.5 isn't as low as a lot of people expected or predicted but it's only rated by 12k people, so it's not going…
What you mentioned above was that 6.5 is not low but it’s only 12k ppl that rated it so it doesn’t count. And I gave you few examples of notable popular shows that opened with almost same number of raters, just to let you know it’s not unusual to have a low number of ppl rating, in the opening score. There are others too like Blossoms in Adversity etc but it’s not my job to list it all. You can go make the search on your own. Now you are dissecting each of the show listed, and tbh I’m not about to discuss success of other shows nor what their opening scores were. Also, it’s called ‘opening score,’ it might get higher or lower but the number of people rating will increase like the shows mentioned above did. Most of them also opened first with that number of raters after their fast track.

Oh noo, why should there be a fight? We are only just discussing our different points as human, it’s a free world. But it’s quite weird coming under someone’s post celebrating a drama on it’s own and saying you don’t want to get in a fight when they give an opposing view to your response. You can make your own separate post/comment instead on this page, if your first instinct was a fight 👀; cause that's def not what I want.

Your opinion is the drama didn’t do well, my opinion is it was a success with the little it had. Again to each their opinion, and that's my last comment on it. It opened with 6.5 of 12k raters which is superb ✈️✈️
