i'm sorry this is super irrelevant but why is everyone always bringing food for doctor bun?? XD i mean the lady…
Asian culture. Different to modern Western culture. If you live near virtually any Asian culture you will see this. Dr. Bun is someone they respect, so in appreciation they bring him food.
I also like Bestie. The character is quite earnest, flawed but feels real. Her loyalty and friendship is golden. She has to be in line for Best Female Support in a BL 2021. Angelica is also giving life to the character.
The series doesn't seem able to decide if Bryce is a nice guy or a jerk. In Episode 4 he was a complete d*ck but…
The duality of Bryce is good. In reality there is no true black and white, all shades of grey. Even for the best of persons, there's at least one person who has perceived being slighted by them.
Ep.6 Finally, we get a more coherent Bestie! When she's not constantly eating she's an amazing character! Kurt and Angelica are great together. A sleepy Bart who couldn't respond when she woke him was so funny. The basic story is nice. The characters are well motivated. The setup between Bestie and Edwin was handled well. We could see it coming, but it wasn't extremely obvious and quite well played. The exposition was a little heavy-handed, but I suppose the budget and story maybe necessitated it? Bryce saying he knows he's a dick was a nice character development moment. I'm glad they are not playing the country-bumpkin trope. Bart has retained the simplicity of the character first introduced although he now has fame and, basically, a new lifestyle. The only thing really missing is some more background. A few minute montage into Bart becoming a star would have explained that nicely. Bestie flashing back to how she got the internship and came to Manilla may have made that feel a little less random. We could have seen a little more development of the Bestie Josh friendship. Just like the background of Bryce and Josh, it would have added some depth to the story. There seem to be some gaps here and there that a good script analysis could have solved. When Bestie and Josh were talking it was a good opportunity to retcon her constant eating. She does verbalise some feelings, but that was a good opportunity to include the issue. Angelica is a good actor. I'm hoping to see her in other roles. Sidenote: another engineer gone performer? What's it with these Engineers going into showbiz? See, Mario, let Karl switch from Arch to writing his scripts :D Overall I'm liking this story, though. It feels more organic in development than many others. The acting and cinematography are quite good.
I really disliked Music at the start but now she's becoming one of my favourite characters in the show. I like…
Yes, Music had an amazing development. Originally she looked like a relationship wrecker, but she really evolved into a likable, 3d character. Boyo is what many women in relationships should do. Don't stay for "love" or some other factor. Evidence of toxicity, get out. Well scripted. As for Earth, I like that character for two main reasons: it's what happens when good people are pushed, and it's an amazing vehicle for Singto. Happy Singto is epic, but angry Singto is a sight to behold! That Nong could act! He doesn't have bad boy roles and he's really good at it. Time for him to move out of that comfort zone. He was great against Pat in Turn Left Turn Right, his first hetro role. He could do a semi-bad-boy role like Lee in My Dear Loser: Monster Romance. His change wasn't sudden. It was the result of many factors, including the fact that Sam cheated. We could see it building. I think part of using Stud was, in Earth's mind, to hurt Stud too. Am deserves a happy end. She and Chris are not perfect, but we see growth. I wish that relationship could have had more time. The fact that Chris is ill and it's not romanticised is great. Am having trouble with sex is also an issue never brought up in dramas. I thought Tor and Boom would get old, but credit to the writer for making them a very interesting couple. BTW the friendship between Tor and Good is well portrayed too. Yes, Bew should come back. Again, credit to the writer to not make that the focus of the season and drag it on. The situation happened, there was a resolution, move on. Many other dramas could learn to balance characters and situations like done here.
Ep.7 WTH was that? All this overdramatic dramatised drama! So much waterworks! I can kinda understand Andrew crying. That situation is heartbreaking, but Josh breaking down like that too? What was that between Cass and Chesca? Chesca was so good to not lead Cass on now demanding she answer messages in that manner? Chesca should allow Cass to get over it. Kinda not in character at all. Did Migo take some sort of overacting pill? Didn't get enough sleep before the shoot? One minute you're on a nice date next your crying crawling away from your new BF after just a chat? The ep.7 concept had so much going for it. I was looking forward to some good development with a full-length feature episode. Such a great premise just wasted . . .
Finally, finally Bank and Golf for more than 2 minutes! Bank didn't want any explanation about Golf's life over the last 5 years so we could at least get a little back story? I'm only watching to see how Golf was convinced to get out of Bank's life. Can't I at least have an answer to that?
So because Blued didn't want to sponsor we now make an anti-dating app segment? :D
The dancers are BFFs now?
Swimming couple is now make-up pals?
Positives Fluke's crying was on-point. That violin music was good. The OST is nice.
Negatives Too many to list. 5 episodes in and virtually nothing is coherent?
I respect Nicchi for investing in Wayufilm and bringing an indi production house on stream. That takes guts and bravery. But, Nong, you need to work on writing, directing, and your actor's skills! So much potential!
ep 5:I just think it's funny now XD- our boys walking through a very clearly vacant house, but saving it with…
LMAO. On point! Mark as spoiler! Couldn't the production team borrow some filler items from Ikea, Gerard Collection or Living Store to, at least, make the house look lived in? Or some boxes to make it look like they now moved in? The framing for the tutoring couple (we're not even going to pretend we care enough to get their names) sort of fowled it up, but it was the only real scene that added anything to the story and characters. Couldn't they have started the conversation eating at the table and move to the bed? Is the budget that low we cant have them having a meal?
Leo Fiat what's really going on there? Fiat should realise it's more than just "friends"? More useless waterworks than Pree and Rambo in What the Duck :D.
Achilles and Fonzy :D :D :D Love how the Gameboys universe is so whole! Ginoo Payawal has done it again! While not as fast pace as GB it has its own charm while still being part of the GB Universe. Keavy Eunice Vicente can really write! Amazing to such an open-ended but still gleefully satisfying conclusion! Looking forward to more from IdeaFirst and the team!
I love how Kurt is playing Bart. He has that sort of innocence that a character in that situation should, while still being grounded. I'm glad to see that he has become successful and not playing on another trope of country boy come to town and town guy must save him.
I love the character of Bestie. I don't like the constant trope of her always eating. That could have been a one off joke, or more in the background, but she is a good character as a best friend. Angelica is playing the over the top role well: not just being annoying, but with actual feeling. They both seem like real, long time friends. I hope they can explore her eating as a real disorder seeing they have an after credit PSA about terms for the LGBT+ community.
We see the love triangle developing. Or is it a love square? Interesting move. Didn't really think they'd do that.
Poor Josh. A drunk mind speaks a sober heart. Is he too late for his 1st love?
While not perfect or even Gaya Sa Pelikula good, it is a charming story.
So far this is okay. Love the look into provincial life. But do people honestly act this way? Move to Manila without…
Yes. This is a story not only in the Philippines. It's all over the world. Someone moves to the big city to try to make a better life. I don't think Bart came with just the clothes on his back, as we see in ep.5 he seems to, at least, have an apt or a place to stay. Maybe the length of the episodes didn't lend well to see his prep for the move.
Dr. Bun is someone they respect, so in appreciation they bring him food.
Her loyalty and friendship is golden. She has to be in line for Best Female Support in a BL 2021.

Sorry, Josh, you had your time. Sadly it's gone.
