If you think that all the things happening are shown for the romance part then I think you aren't watching the carefully. I actually like this drama because it's more than romance. It gives a new perspective on women empowerment(first clinic pervert, then scammer, how strong gonjin's women are ) , old age, friendship, generation gap, divorce, mental health and what not( more to come) and all of these without any romance plot involved. One single scene of her needing help doesn't mean that the show revolves around her being a damsel in distress.

Well idk what you'll do if you were in the same situation as hye jin in front of a pervert with a knife who just snatched your phone. But a normal person like me(idk about others) would have reacted the same way(even tho I've learned martial arts) because I'm no superhero(I wish I was 😩) unfortunately. For me it's the best drama out of all the dramas that are airing right now. Even if you don't like romcoms, you should still give it a try because it is very refreshing. And it not only revolves around romance and comedy, but it's also a slice of life.
