I’d hate to have a guy I turned down and don’t like stalk me like that . The way she turned him down was in a very serious way and not as a joke . He could’ve supported her work online and even the person selling him the papers mentioned it but he still chose to travel down there so he could see her as well . If she was 10 minutes away , I’ll understand but buying a flight ticket and flying over consistently? And it was definitely more than 4 times . The tickets in that box was a lot and he flew enough times to be a regular customer at the paper place .
Yes he’s a green flag because that’s how the writer wanted us to see him but that doesn’t mean that we can’t call out his character when needed .
Once again it’s a fictional story so a lot of things can pass . I also enjoy fiction and hate overly realistic dramas but I just had to point out his actions because nobody else did .
Lastly 32 episodes were truly too long . There were episodes when the main leads didn’t get more than 15 minutes screen time . So if all those extra scenes with the grandparents and second leads were cut out , definitely 24 episodes would’ve been sufficient

This has to be the best Xianxia drama I’ve ever watched . I initially ranked it top 3 but after watching the ending it immediately rose to number 1.
This drama had the best type of relationship between the leads and the best part is there were no misunderstandings. As a dedicated historical cdrama watcher. I couldn’t believe my eyes . I started sitting on the edge of my seat because I felt there’d be a huge misunderstanding ahead that would end my heart as a viewer but thankfully, there wasn’t .
It was 40 episodes and each episode was interesting. I have a habit of skipping scenes that don’t involve the main leads but for this drama , I genuinely didn’t see the need to as almost every scene was engaging.
The visuals for the drama from the styling to the makeup and actors were great . The story too was well written and everything made sense in the end .
I honestly wish I could forget everything and watch it again for the first time . This drama is as important to me as the untamed and ancient love poetry.

I started this drama after I completed blossom . I had to skip through some scenes as I found the other couples to be quite boring but overall it was a good show . I love the main couple and I hope Lin yu gets more lead roles ❤️

If you’re looking for a romance drama, you’re at the wrong place . This series was purely family oriented with a splash of work drama . The main character in this drama was the fl’s mom . She got an insane amount of screentime and attention. The leads didn’t start dating till like episode 26 and it was mainly just them taking turns comforting each other .

This is my first time watching a historical drama that isn’t centered around cultivation and so I didn’t really have any interest . The fl’s character was refreshing to watch . She was always quick on her feet and wasn’t easily bullied which I genuinely loved . I also love how the love story between her and Dylan developed. It wasn’t rushed or forced .
Honestly the drama did get boring at some point for like 5-10 episodes but after those episodes, the drama picked up and I binge watched it to the end . The boring episodes were like from 8-15 . I’m not certain of the exact episodes but it’s around there .
I don’t want to get into the details and end up dropping spoilers but all I’ll say is ignore the negative comments and just watch the series for yourself. Try to hang in there till like episode 16/17 and you’ll be fine .

My personal overall rating was 6.5/10 . Yes the drama was engaging and I binged watched it which I said in the review but I could barely remember most of it. A lot seemed to have happened but when you stop to think , nothing much truly happened. I said I didn’t find the fl annoying too because I saw a lot of TikTok comments dragging her and complaining about how much they hated her character . I watched it and felt otherwise . I felt all her actions were correct . I had a lot of expectations for this drama . Most likely because of how hyped it was and some even called it the best kdrama ever but frankly I’ve seen better ones but taste and preference is subjective which I understand. The review was my own opinion and not by any means that of the general public .
Overall I’d rate this drama 6.5/10 . If you’re not really a big fan of political dramas, you’d rate it even lower but I’m trying to be fair . I appreciate the work everyone put into making this drama . From the cast to the crew . Well done 👍🏾

Character I hated : that good for nothing self righteous scholar🙂
Thoughts on the main couple: I take back what I said about the ml being very old . He’s quite mature looking but he honestly just looks his age and he has a nice smile . I’d say he’s quite manly and you’d like him if that’s your spec .
The fl is okay too . She’s pretty .
They have nice chemistry . There were some scenes that I was like to love is nice sha but that’s it .
Completing this drama felt like I completed an assignment that I’ve been postponing for a long time.
