I don’t mind extra Nc scenes but I’m glad it’s not the main focus of the drama :)
Most dramas also have the habit of turning emotional scenes into Nc scenes. So I’m genuinely glad with how they handled it

You clearly prioritize Nc scenes over the plot of the series and you’re trying to use the abuse to deter the conversation and so I will no longer engage with you in this conversation.

The next scene was clear that it was a continuation. Qin was wearing Duang’s shirt and they said their first “I love you” to each other and even promised to love each other more henceforth. Next you can see that despite Qin being tired he didn’t want to leave Duang and even followed him to his class and ended up sleeping through out . Sometimes there are shows that leave cues or hints for the viewers to pick up on . Where episode 9 ended , we already knew what was going to happen and there was no need to show more as it would still be censored and the viewers are supposed to use their imagination. For the child abuse part , it was still censored . The child wasn’t really shown getting abused . The most that happened was the nanny forcefully carrying him outside . A lot of the scenes from the abuse was left for the viewers to pick up and understand. They still went forward to show us the hospital scene with bruises on his body for us to know that he wasn’t just verbally abused but also physically abused . Nobody is comfortable with violence . The episode was an emotional one and was edited in that light

I’m genuinely glad they didn’t include any extra Nc scenes in episode 10. The actors are quite young and also there’s so much more to Bl series than Nc scenes . The lack of Nc scenes was great as it allowed the viewers to truly connect with the episode and feel the gravity of what happened and adding an Nc scene would’ve ruined that . Maybe viewers that love Nc scenes so much should take a minute to reflect on why they love Nc scenes that much and perhaps do a self reflection

A hot mess
Less is more and this series failed to understand this . The first few episodes were great but then it went downhill. Too many storylines going on with little time and so poor execution. The writer wanted to do so much that they ended up doing nothing right .
The last episode was painful to watch . It was as if the writer wanted to add every single cliche known to man .
This series had such great potential but ended up falling flat .
I don’t want to go into details to avoid dropping spoilers but I’ll unfortunately have to rate it a 4/10 .
It’s okay to simplify storylines and if you want something to be complicated, you either pace it better or increase the episodes.
Would I recommend this series to someone else ? No I won’t .
Do I hate it ? No I don’t .
I’m just disappointed

I don’t advise anyone with a weak heart to watch this drama . For the first time I truly understood Duang and today I was Duang. With those last 8 minutes in episode 6, I almost fainted . Like my heart rate actually increased . I’ve watched it several times and I get the same reaction every single time . I’m actually speechless. To think I thought episode 5 was good . This episode is officially the best. It had me screaming and giggling . I’m already mourning how I’d survive without this series when it ends 😔

I actually started skipping in the Nc scenes . I also watched it to the last episode just so I could hate better . I didn’t want someone saying I didn’t give the series a chance before dropping it or hating it .

I had to take a deep breath before writing this review so I can write it without offending others .
Taste is subjective but I’ll still say what’s on my mind in a respectful manner.

This series is a waste of time and would reduce your brain cells . The Nc scenes were so unnecessary that there was no longer chemistry. I started skipping the Nc scenes of both couples . That’s how exhausted I was .

I know you’d wonder , if you hated it so much , why did you finish it . I finished it so I could hate better with proof and evidence . I watched it to the last episode and dropped it 19 minutes to the end because it felt like self harm at that point .

I could go into details that only people that have seen this drama would understand and empathize with me but no .
The purpose of this review is to chase away someone that hasn’t watched it yet .
This review is for the person wondering if they should start and I’m here to say DON’T do it .

Don’t fall for the edits or recommendations .
If I’m able to save at least one person’s time , then I have succeeded .
In this day and age , there are several series to watch . Please pick something else .

Note : I don’t hate the actors as individuals. I think they did a great job . The show is just not it and I hope they all get better projects in future although I doubt I’d be interested again but I wish them the best .

Bonus : the actor that plays run is very pretty and I hope he gets a show as the lead .

This series has me on my knees. I don’t know how to explain it .In general you could say there’s nothing special about the series but it’s like a drug addiction. Each week feels longer than the last . This series has me wanting to go outside to touch grass to claim my sanity back .

I’m down bad for the main couple . I don’t really like the second couple . No shade to the actors but I just don’t find their story interesting or enticing . If the alpha can’t express himself he should move on . Personally I even feel like the ship shouldn’t sail and his secretary can do better elsewhere .

Now back to the main couple ! I looveeee them . Every time they’re not on my screen I feel like I’m losing precious time in the episode considering it’s just about 37 minutes

This drama is a breath of fresh air . I watched it after watching 34 episodes of legend of zang hai and so you can imagine how much rest my brain needed .
This isn’t a review for legend of zang hai so I won’t talk much on it .
This drama was light hearted and very cliche with the marriage contract but I liked it still .
Initially I didn’t want to leave a review or comment but after reading what others wrote I felt the need to write something .

I’ll address the popular complaints first .
“The ml’s acting was stiff”. this is such a ridiculous take . The ml was a general that stayed outside the capital constantly fighting. I don’t know what type of expressions other than what he showed that he was supposed to have . He was soft when necessary and strong willed when necessary as well .

Secondly “the fl can’t act”. I understand that opinion is subjective but seriously guys ?
Her acting was great and she was just fine .

Her reaction after everything that happened to her father was very logical . No matter how calculative you are , when you lose something or someone you love, it’s hard to still be conniving or think straight . So her actions were justified and the ml never left her during that time .

As someone that has been a victim of ctraumas, I really love this series . All the good guys stayed alive. No unnecessary last minute sacrifice. The king was also very smart .
The romance started early too . First kiss scene was in episode 14 . The ml protected the fl several times without fail .

The side characters were cute too although I wasn’t really invested in their relationships . The drama did well by ending it within 30 episodes.

I hope my review is enough to get even one more person to watch this masterpiece of a drama .
Watch it and judge for yourself.

Lastly someone also complained about the marriage not being consummated till episode 27. I mean they gave us several kiss and hug scenes before that that I didn’t even notice .

I may rewatch this drama in future because I really liked the leads.
If you’re tired and need a place to rest, this drama is a place to rest .

Koreans , Chinese and Japanese people have very similar looks . It’s wrong for you to call it deceptive marketing . From reading plot alone, you can see the names there aren’t Korean . You watch only Kdramas and so your view is quite small . I’ll suggest you watch dramas from other Asian countries to avoid making comments like this

The first time she left Sang yan to study in yihe , she didn’t do it because she was protecting him . She did it to protect herself and she wanted to be in a new space free from her family issues . Yes she did feel sang yan deserved better but that wasn’t her reason for choosing to study elsewhere. The second time she left for Hong Kong was when she truly left to protect sang yan . Me having a different opinion doesn’t mean I didn’t watch the drama properly . So I did feel like your initial statement was a bit rude. I’m also very much open to having conversations with others I’mand that’s why I post reviews and leave comments. Thank you for sharing your thoughts 🤍

I watched it properly . He made that promise to her when they were teenagers in high school and were on the verge of getting into a relationship and later planned to attend the same school . Later on Yifan changed her uni choice and told sang yan that seeing him made her life difficult and should leave her alone . So I still stand on the fact that him consistently flying to see her and watching from afar was stalker like behavior and he wasn’t there for her as he never did anything during those years and she still felt very much alone .
