I love this article! Mostly I go off of my mood. I wrote a post about Kdrama moods on the Kdrama subreddit and I have certain moods that highly determine what I will and won't watch. Like I am waiting to be in the mood to watch My Mister and Flower of Evil. They both look good but I just haven't been in the right mood to watch them.
The other thing I look at is the cast. There are certain actors and actresses that I really like so I will be more inclined to watch something they are in. And there are a handful that make me want to avoid their dramas. I used to try to watch their dramas because I felt bad, but then I realized they just annoyed me and what's the point of watching if I am not truly enjoying the experience?

In my opinion, not really. She does come around to accepting the ML eventually but it takes forever and her attitude remains the same. Way too controlling, overbearing and constantly nagging to the very end.

There is a second lead that likes the female lead and there are 2 girls that like the male lead. So there are love triangles. The ones for the male lead are really short though and don't last more than a couple episodes. As for the guy who likes the female lead, that goes on for a while. It's not as annoying as some other dramas because if you're like me, I promise you will not have an ounce of second lead syndrome. The leads pretty much just stay true to each other throughout the entire drama and they officially get together in episode 12. There are also a few antagonistic characters but nothing too major or dragged out.

I totally agree with you. I'm on episode 12 and I keep watching hoping it will improve. Good lord the female lead's character is one of the most irritating I have seen.

For real. I have been disappointed with romance dramas recently. I dropped Record of Youth, Dosolsol etc, Start Up , and more. The only one I have liked is Do You Like Brahms? That has definitely been my favorite in the romance genre. I do have some hope for this one and "Sunbae Don't Put on That Lipstick."

There really is a warmth to it that is hard to put into words. It's a cozy drama.

I'm debating whether to start this drama or not and I read a comment somewhere saying the leads don't get together until the last episode. Seeing as it's like 30+ episodes that's a slooooowwww romance. Which is fine, but I'm not in the mood for that at the moment. Is this true that they are not together until the very end?

I guess it's OK to comment "Leftist crybaby" when you don't agree with something though right? Yeah I saw your other comment. But how dare someone call you ignorant! So to be clear it's totally cool for you to insult people by calling them a crybaby, but nobody is allowed to say anything against you.

Apparently they also call the character appropriating a black man an Australopithecus. An ape that came from Africa...I guess I just don't see anything chill, bright, or cute about that. Call me crazy!

Even if we don't necessarily agree, I think it's really awesome that you are keeping an open mind and trying to educate yourself. I am still trying to educate myself.

They are tearing this drama to shreds on Tumblr and I agree with all of them. I haven't watched KTEM but this Tumblr is how I felt when I searched "Backstreet Rookie"
