GOLDEN RULE OF C-DRAMAS??
I KNOW forgiving mass murderers and villains and all kinda evil people is a TREND in c-dramas but this one is TOOOOO MUCHtwo people almost ALL their lives KILLED, TORTURED and MASSACRED innocents, and they were forgiven JUST LIKE THAT? why? just because they are parents of ML and FML? this is beyond RIDICULOUS.
GOLDEN RULE in c-dramas:
ANYONE can getaway with anything as long as they are friends or relatives of the main leads. beside that and a couple of loopholes I liked the plot generally I think it doesn't deserve 6.5, I've seen literal TRASH with a score higher than 8.5. this already shows how some people are on MDL and you can never really trust the scores here. I'll give it a 10 not because it deserves a 10 (I think it's a 7.5) but because 6.5 is tooo low for it.

the single dumbest ending ever in all the c-dramas that I've watched
the romance part is strong and good, they understand and care for each other deep it can be said that they're one soul in two bodythe characters are good but in critical moments they suddenly become idiots
he was dumb and irresponsible enough to reject the crown once which resulted in that massacre, I can NOT believe he did it AGAIN and to make it worse he made XI YANG the ruler?? WHAT? an idiot woman who betrayed EVERYONE? the girl doesn't understand what's right and what's wrong all she did in jixing was schemes and not for a good cause and her ways were evil and now she wants to be empress:) good luck with that (how old even is she 18?20?)
xia Jingshi was one step behind to win it all and he gave it up to kill FS. that's another decision that I will not accept. I KNOW obsession is strong in some people, but considering everything I don't think his obsession was that strong for FML.
endings are very important in deciding wether a drama is good or not, this ending ruined the drama from being good to a time waster

A Great Ending (not saying sad or happy, it's not a spoiler)
First time writing a Review , bear with meAs you all know ending is very important in your opinion of how you value a drama after you see it.
A bad drama with good ending can raise the value and a good drama with bad and rushed ending can destroy it for you.
This drama had a unique and wonderful ending. You can see it that in the entire drama they were preparing for it and it wasn't like one those dramas that you feel the director woke up and decided that He wanted to end his drama some way depending on his mood. (LOOOTS of dramas are this way)
About the acting it was nicely done. PWY did a good job and I could feel his emotion through screen.
In the Back From The Brink I was completely disappointed in ZY and I didn't want to watch her dramas again. However, now I'm glad that I didn't make that mistake. Her acting was great and I will definitely continue her work.

A different FML from other c-dramas
first the drama was perfect, loved it and main leads had great chemistrynow about FML, in the era of boss girls and self centered FMLs she was a good one. in this era almost 80 percent of FMLs are mostly talks, we are no less than men, this sentence is ALL OVER their entire drama and then they humiliate a man to show they're right again and again if this happens in some dramas it's ok we say they're doing it to some incapable or wicked but this is happening in almost every major drama we see, in these dramas women are usually seen as angels even if they are part of the bad guys their reason is ALWAYS JUSTIFIED this shows it seems like some writers have grudges against men in general!
NOW in this drama again we saw the 'we are no less than men' phrase again BUT the difference was first it wasn't said in every single episode like they're forever stuck in a slogan mode second FML did her job or duty RIGHT and by doing that she proved her point she didn't compete or tried humiliate others. If you seen GOT Remember when Tywin said: Any man who must say, "I am the king" is no true king. It's something like that. Do what you're good at others if they're wise enough will know your worth.
Now if we move on to the relationship of main leads
Before FML, ML had one goal, survive. After he saw her he began to take more responsibilities he tried to be better he wanted to be a good emperor.
Other girl boss FMLs are like I wanna do this if you don't like it, it means you don't support me then we're done, IF this is in the BEGINNING of the show, it's ok you've JUST met and you're not there yet BUT this happens usually when the drama is well advanced or in later stages of dramas when they've gone through all kinda ups and downs. In THIS stage being SELFISH like that is too much.
FML in this one was WAY better bcs she understood ML. She considered her and his situation and They found a purpose TOGETHER and they tried to reach a certain goal together.
Being a queen of a country isn't for everyone and SHE deserved it UNLIKE other FMLs.
