It was really good until I got to about 30 or so when the big event happens. The end was just honestly so frustrating. I wouldn't even say it was a satisfying ending even though they got married. Because they got married like the last possible minute and FL was being a total pain in the ass for like the last five or so episodes, and I found myself fast forwarding a lot, I had to dock it two stars. But, they were super cute when stuff was going good before the tragedy, so I can't say that the show is bad.... I enjoyed it overall I think it's probably one of the top two of the three versions that I've seen, but I think I was more satisfied at the end of the Korean version. the leads were really cute, and the second couple wasn't overbearing storyline wise, which is nice. I also really loved all the family stuff with the grandma and the aunt.
One thing that I want to call out that I really enjoyed was the fact that it wasn't a carbon copy of the other two. I really appreciated that they tried to make little differences in the story so it didn't feel like you were watching something that you'd already seen.
the romance was kind of non-existent for most of this, so I don't really like that considering it was called revolutionary…
Oh, and ML's mom is the absolute cutest. I adored her in every scene. She was the nicest wealthy potential mother-in-law I've ever seen in one of these.
the romance was kind of non-existent for most of this, so I don't really like that considering it was called revolutionary love. Also, I don't like that the brother didn't suffer any consequences when he was the main villain through all this. But, overall it was an entertaining watch and I'm not angry that I watched it so I call that a win.
I was honestly watching this for Johnny (I saw him in The Love Knot: His Excellency's First Love, which is honestly a strange show, with very entertaining all the way through), because every other show that the FL has been in then I've tried to watch, I've dropped (and usually because of her character).
Johnny did not disappoint me, she actually did really disappoint me either. My reason for dropping this was definitely the second couple and all of their drama just taking over. I was finding myself fast-forwarding through more than half of each episode by the time I dropped it. And I totally agree with you about the product placement who the hell drink Sprite after they work out?! Or for their sole source of nutrients for breakfast?
Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed your review of this. Far more than I enjoyed the second half of the show.
I don't think I can finish this, this really should have only been like 30 something episodes. There's way too much focus on the second couple, and there's just too much other ridiculousness going on with the business storylines. It's like once they sent his sister off to America the show went downhill. while I did like the main couples chemistry, eventually they got to be exhausting as well. I might try to go back and finish the last four episodes, I might not. But for now I think I'm going to drop this.
I didn't hate this nearly as much as a good chunk of the comments and the written reviews above did. I actually loved it for the first 11/12 episodes. Starting with episode 13 it just started to go downhill really fast for me. The villain was stupid, I still don't understand his motivation I guess besides being just generally evil and wanting to take over the worlds, I guess.
One thing that I'm seeing a lot in the comments is that the leads didn't have any chemistry or that the romance sucked, I don't agree with that at all I thought they had great chemistry. I really enjoyed the couple and the romance was one of my favorite part of the show. I don't, however, like the way that it ended. I wanted to see her become the queen, not watch them time/world hop for 10 minutes. I don't see how I'm supposed to be fully satisfied with them still living on two different worlds, but only seeing each other on weekends and maybe holidays.
I also don't have any huge complaints about the acting, I thought the acting was pretty good. The whole point was for me to believe the character and to feel emotions, and I did that for both of the leads, and WDH. Everyone else, other than the older court lady, weren't that interesting. Oh, and I liked Jangmi, he was adorable.
Anyway, just give me my spin-off focusing on WDH's Corean character (looks like he had a lil romance brewing).
The only version of this that I've watched is playful kiss, and I tried to make my way through this one but after 20 episodes I just can't do it anymore. The girl is just TOO stupid, and I don't like the story enough to sit all the way through it again just to see how this one ends versus how that one ended. I don't know how those people who have watched four or five versions of this have done it 'cause I just can't.
As a sports show, it's a solid 9, as a romance I have to give it a 7 because there was too much ridiculousness going on, so overall it gets an 8. I did really like the ending, but it would have been nice to see him play in the game instead of that really long confusing intro. Also, Deng Lun gets all the heart eyes every time he shows up in this.
One thing I don't understand is all the people saying that I got boring after episode 27 or 30 in the comments, the romance might have gotten a little bit redundant, but the sports stuff started to really get interesting after that.
While I did greatly enjoy the show, and I absolutely loved ML, there was way too much of the side characters' drama for me, I found myself fast forwarding a lot in the last 10-15 episodes waiting for the main couple to come back. I suppose it was mostly a product of this being 50 episodes, but I really didn't care about everything that was going on with all of the other romances. With that being said I did enjoy the show and will look for more stuff with ML and FL (she's so pretty) in it.
They had twins? I kept watching the final episode and I don't see any twins; where did you read this?
Nowhere, it's my headcanon for what ultimately happens since they didn't show it. Since he wanted twins and Switzerland is the only place they can be together. Sorry the confusion :o)
Descendants of The Sun / Crash Landing On You, which do you choose ??https://youtu.be/lZfzE06ogZg
I have to go with DOTS. While I liked the main romance in CLOY better, I ffwded through a lot of stuff with the 2nd couple near the end, I don't ffwd at all through DOTS. And SJK's character in DOTS is still my favorite ML ever out of everything that I've watched.
I absolutely loved the main couple and their story. There were some eps after ep 10 where I don't think we got enough of them (and way too much of the 2nd couple). I'm satisfied with the ending though, I'm choosing to believe they'll just live happily ever after in Switzerland with their twins :o)
I hated the princess in every scene she was in from start to finish, I especially hate that she got a happy ending after being a selfish brat for 20 episodes. ?
One thing that I want to call out that I really enjoyed was the fact that it wasn't a carbon copy of the other two. I really appreciated that they tried to make little differences in the story so it didn't feel like you were watching something that you'd already seen.

Overall, it gets a 7 from me.
