The mother is really getting on my nerves. Everyone condemns the grandmother favouring her sons but no one condemns…
I know we just had a conversation in the comments below, but the ML does get a lot better and their communication gets better over time as well. It does take more episodes to get there though. She also doesn't fall for him right away, and even after agreeing to marry him, she doesn't immediately fall for him and has her suspicions and conditions! I know it can be frustrating, but I do enjoy their relationship development a lot. They grow together and develop together later on - but I do know the slow burn pace isn't for everyone!
I really enjoyed this one! Haven't liked a Chinese drama in a while, but this one was amazing! The main leads…
Oh that's unfortunate :( I really liked part 2 - the drama is a slow burn though so it's not for everyone. And hmm not any cdramas as of late I've really enjoyed besides this one. I haven't caught up in a lot but I heard people liking Love Between Fairy and Devil, which is a xianxia! Not sure if you like those genres but maybe you can give it a try?
May I offer a different perspective, why viewers, including myself, gave this drama high rating.Story of Minglan…
Enjoy part 2! I personally liked the development of the story and characters in part 2 a lot, and how their relationship develops! Can't wait to see what your final opinion of the drama is :)
Started watching this. Giving more cdramas a chance. The voiceovers aren't too annoying in this one. A fan of…
I really enjoyed this one! Haven't liked a Chinese drama in a while, but this one was amazing! The main leads also dub their own voices so that's a nice touch!
CSS is such a hypocrite! If it was her family she wouldn't even wait 15 years, so why blame LBY when she would…
She was never angry at him for taking revenge though? She WANTED him to take revenge actually. She was just angry that he never told her what is going on and left her in the dark - and how he wasn't Ling Buyi (his real identity).
Guys I really can't move on from this drama.... it's been a while since I've loved a Chinese drama this much (last one I was obsessed with was The Untamed)!
In a way though the ending was fitting. Everything comes back around to family and although I am disappointed…
I thought the ending was very fitting too! I feel like they needed time to slow down and process everything that happened. The ending is true to the novel - the wedding is only in the epilogue of the novel.
The last 10-11 episodes were so beautifully done. I literally cried every other episode.
This is definitely my favorite Chinese drama in a while! It was so beautifully executed. Even my boyfriend who usually doesn't watch any dramas really liked this one!
The acting was amazing - beautifully done by ALL actors, not just the leads. Wu Lei portrayed Ling Buyi so well - he was able to make me feel all the pain that he went through. I wanted to give a special shoutout to Lusi though - she portrayed Shaoshang quite perfectly. This is her BEST work as of yet. I first watched her in I Hear You, and then in the Romance of Tiger and Rose. She has improved DRASTICALLY since those dramas (she was already pretty good though).
I really love Shaoshang as a character - one of my favorite female leads. I know some people were annoyed of her actions in the earlier episodes, but I thought she was very realistic and relatable. She's not your typical strong female lead in the aspect that she can physically fight, but she is strong in many different ways. She is very wise, always thinking of ways to save others no matter what, and she is an inventor and can build/make things. She was also smart is not giving her heart to LBY right away, but she slowly fell in love with him over time after many encounters (which I LOVE, because I find this way more realistic). She is also very kind, not forgetting to help those that have helped her (especially in the case of the Empress). I really love her character development.
I don't know if I can get over this drama anytime soon - it really was amazing. The last 10 episodes made me feel all sorts of emotions
I'm on epi 40 and I still think 'The Long Ballad' is the best in this genre. What did you think guys? The struggle…
I personally love LLTG more. I think Wu Lei really improved on his acting here and I love the character development here better. I also like Wu Lei and Lusi have better chemistry than Dilraba and Wu Lei.
I love Lusi ever since The Romance of Tiger and Rose! She has IMPROVED SO MUCH! I also love watching her BTS and interactions with her and her co-stars. She seems super friendly and fun to be around on set! My favorite work from her is definitely Love Like the Galaxy! Hoping that she'll get an amazing script like LLTG sometime soon! :)
To everyone that just started watching Part 1... keep in mind that it does start a little slow to build up the characters and story - but this drama is SOOOO worth it! Literally finishing up part 2 right now and it became one of my fav Chinese dramas of all time!
This has become one of my favorite Chinese dramas of all time.... I've never been so obsessed. The acting, the directing, the cinematography, the storyline... oh my gosh, it's so amazing!

I also first saw Lusi in "I Hear You!"
She has improved so much since then, and LLTG is her best work yet!
