Yes, I absolutely agree with this 100%! The 2005 adaptation was one of my first dramas ever, and I absolutely ADORED Nicholas Tse as Hua Wu Que! He was the perfect actor for that role! Hu Yi Tian's acting isn't cutting it for me right now sadly :/
The cast for this drama is perfect to me! I loved Mew's acting, and Gulf was also pretty good for a rookie actor as well! And their chemistry is simply off the charts. I'm so happy that they were casted together! I love their friendship in real life as well, and seeing them so comfortable with one another makes me enjoy the drama even more <3 Although the script was nothing special, this drama kept me HOOKED due to the casts, and I could not stop watching. I usually rate dramas based on how much they entertain me, not necessarily on every bit of the plot, and this was a 10/10 for me for sure <3
Okay, Tharntype really made me have higher expectations for BL dramas now XD The chemistry between Mew and Gulf is off the charts! They are so comfortable with each other on and off screen. I adore their friendship/bromance! I've seen MANY BL's, but some of the actors do have some awkward on and off screen moments, and it's evident. But Mew and Gulf seem so comfortable with each other <3 I'm so happy that I got to watch this series!

In the 2005 version that I saw, the two brothers had different girls that they fell in love with. But there were two girls did fall for Xiao Yu'er, and he was with both of them for some time.

Xiao Yu'er did choose one of the girls first and was with her for a while, but then she was killed. He moved on later to the other girl that also was in love with him, but she ended up dying as well. It was depressing ahhh
I LOVED the actors from the 2005 version, so hopefully these actors can satisfy me here as well. I'm putting this one off for a while, will be coming back when everything is finished airing.

Hahah XD I did give Dark Blue Kiss ago and was able to enjoy it! Of course not as much as Tharntype, but it was pretty decent! Sotus and Tharntype are definitely my top two favorites! <3
Somebody help me, I keep rewatching Tharntype because I can't find another interesting BL to watch. I've already seen most of the popular ones XD I tried watching 2 Moons 2, but then I got disinterested. I also just finished Together with Me, but it did not satisfy me as much as Tharntype. I've already seen Sotus, Love by Chance, History 2: Boundary Crossing, History 3: Trapped, Theory of Love, & Addicted Heroin... I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANYTHING INTERESTING AFTER THIS AHH
The storyline was decent, but what kept me really going was the chemistry between Max and Tul! They are absolutely adorable together! Yihwa was also amazing! LOVE her as a character so much!
