OMG the cast looks promising asf for a thriller. Like you don't get it. Ha Kyun was phenomenal in "Beyond Evil", Young Kwang is an actor I've seen in few dramas, always nailing his role and the most recent one is a serial killer on Netflix (I recommend it), and lastly Jae Ha that I've just discovered on "Taxi Driver" playing the antagonist.
Honestly, I'm usually not hang up on a lot of romance Xianxia/Wuxia because it's horribly caricatural and cliche, specially the female character is annoying as hell.
Now, I find that I loved the first 6 episodes of this series, even though there some elements /scene added to romanticized the series, the portrayal of the characters is mature enough. We got a devil, who isn't easily sway by a beauty and his story is quite singular. And we got the 'chosen one' girl who is determined to save her people, even being a bit cruel herself sometimes.
The CGI was obvious but I actually liked it, the use of powers is larger that the scales I usually see, also the characters have several ways to manifest their power.
I totally agree with you on this. Based on the reviews and ratings, I was also tricked into watching this and…
Feel like this series was shot in the 2000s, and yet even there some have better dialogues and acting. I don't understand the rating here maybe it's because of the romance people didn't care for the rest. 🤷♀️
Judging from your profile, it doesn’t seem like this will be a series you will enjoy. Mileage varies but if…
I mean, I would understand if some key moments were missing — I could just watch it, but it's just bad to the acting, the sets and costumes. Like the quality of the production, the dialogues, basically everything is out of place. I do enjoy Chinese Romance once in a while, but this isn't it in terms of producing and writing.
I'm confused, because not only the series look like it has been shot ages ago, the make up of the women are bad, the sets look cheap as hell. Now, even the acting is weird, like the Prince on EP. 2 is casually told that his mom has been killed - first the context was so random, but next thing we know he swear revenge and whatnot. To me the moment wasn't there, I didn't care for it, but the acting was plain bad.
I see this series is praised but it's really bad so far, even the interactions, everything feels so out of place, how this was shot in 2019 ?? Is this even worth it ?
Any recommendation about c-drama that have a seemingly "evil" character as the main - don't need to be romance btw, any type of Wuxia or Xianxia with this type of character will fit.
I think Seok Jae Beom is the great villain of the story. I also don't think he has completely lost his memory,…
Yeah, I feel like something isn't right with him, it's odd, even sometimes the way he behaves, he knows how to lie and manipulate. I'm suspicious of him.
I mean, it's high school, so flirting and jealousy, love triangle and all that, but not really a romance, not even couple to speak of, it's really much more a thriller with few cute moments between high schoolers.
cast an credit as the main role, kind of spoiled the fact that he is coming back.
Do you realize that Netflix released a video announcing the season 2, he was present. They are not gonna call him to announce a season that he won't be a part of, Netflix never done that and it doesn't make sense. Which means they indeed found a role for him for season 2.
This is gold for a thriller. 😭

I guess this isn't just for me.
