I just noticed Dramacool has 41 episodes in this drama and here it states it has only 40 episodes. Which one is…
based on what i see in the opening guide (Episode#) of both videos, Episode 40 is labelled as Episode 40, while Episode 41 is labelled FINAL Episode instead of Episode 41.
That said, both videos have the same opening scene with FL and the ending scene with FL/ML at cafe. I didn't watch the two videos but i assume they have the same contents.
Since this thread has become so grim, here is another spoiler prediction for how this could end happily:
this is just my speculation, not a spoiler. Emperor marries Haishi to save her from deception crime (female identity), punishable by immediate execution. Haishi becomes Queen while Tilan remains Consort. Because Emperor trusts his little brother Jichang so much, he isn't wary of him and throws caution to the wind even to the point when questionable evidence kept pointing to his little brother being the mastermind plotting against him. So Jichang succeeds in dethroning and killing the Emperor, Shifu succumbs to his accumulated injuries and dies. Haishi succeeds in getting rid of Jichang and becomes Empress and rule the nation, either as herself or as the regent.
It's not a high budget drama but definitely not cheap rate production.
i've yet to resume from #4. Based on what i saw in #24, they got married but due to ML's ardent admirer, they had to separate. Think CP kept secret relationship in order to counter the evil villain/s.
wow, can binge watched the whole subbed series on Dramacool! For a start, FL/ML visuals look compatible together,…
I didn't like MHH cos 1) his visual didn't pass my 1st basis for spending time on a drama. 2) its slapstick comedy while applying modern biz strategies wasn't my cup of tea.

based on my watching ep #1 and #24, there are two villains, one each for FL & ML. There'll be turmoil for the CP in between, but they will live happily ever after...
Just found out this interesting new historical drama, is it worth watching? or just a low budget drama?
wow, can binge watched the whole subbed series on Dramacool! For a start, FL/ML visuals look compatible together, but at certain times, FL looked her age, ie older than ML. Fighting choreo OK. Slapstick comedy not too silly... Subs done ok.
does anyone see the slight resemblance between him and oneus hwanwoong?
For me, these three remind me of each other, but Miles definitely looks the best amongst them: Miles Wei Zhe Ming (31) Joseph Zeng Shun Xi (24) Leo Wu Lei (21)
he seems to be the ambitious type. and honestly based on ep 4 i dont think he actually cares much about the crown…
we all know from the moment he lied at such a young age to claim credit and favor from CP, he's unscrupulous and will definitely backstab him in future...
viewers with modern and liberal mindsets tend to forget this is an ancient costume drama where kingship and royalties dictate their subjects' livelihood. Women in king's harem and court ladies are there to tend to his needs, whatsoever it may be. If one is fully conscious of the outcome such action will bring, one has to swallow the treatment thereafter...
I have a feeling that the Emperors brother is enemy number one. Like really you cant be that tired all the time.
it's very obvious. Prince Chang himself is after the throne. He probably wants to take revenge for having been abandoned in another country and to get back at the emperor for all his sufferings he endured in another country...
This drama has a very interesting start unlike those usual romance dramas where FL/ML builds up romance and/or slow burns until 80% of its series before emerging as one CP, and then two three episodes later, the CP breaks up or cools off due to some misunderstanding/ twisted reason...
It kicks off with FL hitting on ML and angst builds up like in Mills and Boon romance novels, engaging in love-hate confrontations every time they meet... Just when you see them hugging emotionally in the rain in one scene and think we're getting there soon, the mood changes the next day like nothing has happened between them. In another scene, you see them having fun together in the amusement park, and the next day, like nothing happened again!
Rather than the usual slow burn type of romance and misunderstanding towards the end, I prefer to see many more of such twists and turns before FL finally opens up her eyes and heart to see the anguish she keeps injecting into ML's heart...
I think I got on my own imaginary ship, setting myself up for disappointment. FaHai is lit, but according to summaries…
Fahai according to original myth is a monk in seek of cultivation and also very adamant in getting rid of all demons/spirits that cross his path. To him, there's no such thing as good spirit or bad spirit; and that humans and spirits cannot live together. So long as it's a spirit, he'll hunt it down, capture and destroy it.
