me too. I like the ML/FL visuals, they look so compatible. Would have still run through the S story if it's just a 24 -ep series. But 70 is too much to bear!

Yes, the maid, whom he helped and took in to work in his household when he was a child. Why she drugged him? Cos, she adores him and want to be with him. But besides him not being interested in her (the maid), his grandma wants him to get married since he has reached marrying age. By poisoning him into stupidity, no noble family will want to marry their daughter to him. So, she will always be the one by his side taking care of him...
Don't know why "Signal" was mentioned since this has nothing like the fantasy phenomenon stuff seen in Signal.
My guess (no spoiler here, just my guesswork): This is about his soul, having left his body during their accident, is now dwelling in the mountain, and is the one sending out signals to help those trackers and hikers lost in the mountain....
After many years of stupidity, his normal smart self first emerges after FL drugged him with sleeping drug on their wedding night. She got her master to eliminate the poison in him. So, by the last episode, he's already cured. During the beating punishment by the drugged grandma, his head was injured but wasn't serious. He feigned stupidity to set trap for the villain.
