This drama has a very interesting start unlike those usual romance dramas where FL/ML builds up romance and/or slow burns until 80% of its series before emerging as one CP, and then two three episodes later, the CP breaks up or cools off due to some misunderstanding/ twisted reason...
It kicks off with FL hitting on ML and angst builds up like in Mills and Boon romance novels, engaging in love-hate confrontations every time they meet... Just when you see them hugging emotionally in the rain in one scene and think we're getting there soon, the mood changes the next day like nothing has happened between them. In another scene, you see them having fun together in the amusement park, and the next day, like nothing happened again!
Rather than the usual slow burn type of romance and misunderstanding towards the end, I prefer to see many more of such twists and turns before FL finally opens up her eyes and heart to see the anguish she keeps injecting into ML's heart...
I think I got on my own imaginary ship, setting myself up for disappointment. FaHai is lit, but according to summaries…
Fahai according to original myth is a monk in seek of cultivation and also very adamant in getting rid of all demons/spirits that cross his path. To him, there's no such thing as good spirit or bad spirit; and that humans and spirits cannot live together. So long as it's a spirit, he'll hunt it down, capture and destroy it.
For me, the most hateful character in this story is the Fiance Lawyer
1st wrong: Cheating 2nd wrong: Doesn't repent and feels he has the absolute entitlement to "make that one mistake", and that it is "human to err". 3rd wrong: When confronted, his outright non repentant attitude blatantly expects his fiancee to accept that one mistake and to live with it. 4th wrong: Expects her immediate "forgiveness" and to marry him as soon as possible 5th wrong: doesn't consider her wishes and executes all his thoughts and plans based on his whims and fancy.
am so use to watching liu xue yi in ancient history dramas (love & redemption / ancient love poetry) with that…
LXY didn't get his dream girl in most wuxia cos he's the 2ML. And this is his second time playing lead ML - Qing Luo and Love At Night. He'll definitely win his gal in LAN.
Seems FL's makeup in all her dramas are unnaturally thick and white to the brim. When i first read others commenting about the exceptional makeup, i didn't pay much attention to it. But in this drama, her thick and whitish face is very prominent.
Is this one of those dramas that kicks off with one or two eps with some laughs and then throws you into a series…
How can a drama with three deaths and one Alzheimer case and a late rekindled love admiration get classified under comedy, romance and fantasy genre!
The love rivalry is quite absurd and unnecessary filler. If he has loved her that much, why has he wasted so many years of not contacting her until now. And she plays sweet innocence telling the two guys she likes both men???
No wonder this so called romcom has such a low rating!

Since I'm one who hates plot build on scheming unscrupulous people, I'm glad the CP in this story has to deal with only a mildly scheming exGF and partner betrayer...
Quite enjoyable to watch - simple love story which started from amnesia to cohabitation to falling deeply in love... Filled with some hilarious moments from the sidekicks.
