Yes, same here. Though Ryan Ding's look was appealing in both period & modern times, something about Rosy Zhao &/or the drama turned me off. Fast fwd to 24 which confirmed my lack of interest.
If you're looking for light hearted romcom with some touching moments, would suggest to you "The Love by Hypnotic" (if you haven't caught it yet) XD
I too couldn't get past Ep 1. While i find the ML likeable, the FL just didn't appeal to me. And after finishing "The Love by Hypnotic", i know why i didn't fell for Rosy Zhao of Tiger & Rose romance.
Would highly recommend "The Love by Hynoptic" if you haven't caught it. Cheers!
This is so refreshing to watch after a week-long marathon of Chinese historicals with conniving backstabbing characters,…
Seems most folks here have not watched "The Love by Hynoptic". Would highly recommend it cos the love chemistry is felt much deeper in TLbH than in Tiger & Rose!!!
Omg yes, yes and yes. I'm fairly new to the asian drama land but you can imagine the shock I've received with…
yes, most period dramas were subbed very badly - literally word for word - making it senseless! Emperor landing is literally translated for The Emperor has arrived!
This drama was great. I really enjoyed it! The leads are great together, they had really good chemistry and the…
yup, really enjoyed this TLbH drama for the easy going plot, bickering and love chemistry between the ML/FL and many touching scenes including the final moments of Qun and Yunsi.
Each and every kissing scene was acted out very well by both ML/FL. It didn't make me cringe or go yucky unlike some other dramas...
Guess the screenwriter and/or director wanted to make this an extraordinary drama by having so many kissing scenes in all 16 episodes from Ep 19/20 to 36. These were acceptable because all were done within their bedroom with only two or three shot in public view (outside the mansion)...
Otherwise, it's quite ridiculous and against Chinese traditional values/virtues to be seen kissing in public...
This drama was a easy watched for me. Light and funny. Strong FL . Loved the ML and his friends. The story was…
yup, i binge watched this non stop! It's totally opposite of Princess at Large 2 with ZERO kissing, not even a peck on the lip or passionate hug when the Crown Prince finally reunited with his long lost wife!
omg! finish it! episode 18 is literally the episode they get together, and it gets really good. so you should…
hey friend, re yr pt about "how she doesn't get pregnant"... actually their skinship acted out so far were pure kissing scenes and nothing beyond that... The one and only scene with more suggestive motions is in the remote black inn XD
Li Qun's attempt on Mingyue's life is not to get at Li Qian but to prevent her from helping revive Qian's lost…
sorry but don't quite understand what you're driving at. Have you watched the last few epis and finale already?
My initial reply to you was to yr 1st sentence...
As for our subsquent view exchanges... My perception of Xiyue's Crown Prince is that he would not be rash to start a war as the messy situation was brought on by his own commander Yunsi.
Li Qun could always rebut to Xiyue king that all he did was to save the kidnapped Crown Prince and Mingyue from Yunsi.
Furthermore, Qun did try to persuade his beloved wife to stop but she kept pushing on. And that's why he lied to her that Qian & MY had died in the fire, but later on revealed the charred bodies might not be them when he couldn't bear seeing his devastated wife crying in pain...
Li Qun's attempt on Mingyue's life is not to get at Li Qian but to prevent her from helping revive Qian's lost…
That wouldn't happen cos Xiyue Crown Prince is understanding & wise, and would first seek clarifications with LiQian before making any unwise move. He and Qian knew it's harmful to their people if both countries were to engage in war
Li Qun's attempt on Mingyue's life is not to get at Li Qian but to prevent her from helping revive Qian's lost…
well, i guess he's probably not worried about that as evidenced in his being able to wipe out Xiyue camp even though it's led by the crazy general commander Yunsi
Such a HUGE difference between this drama and Princess at Large 2 ---the ML/FL lips never touched each other in PaL2 Ep 13 when the Crown Prince patched up all misunderstandings with his long lost wife Xianyun. TLbH had numerous skinship scenes from Ep 19/20 to 36 while PaL2 had none - ZERO!!!
the older brother of Li qian keep on trying to kill Mingyue to get at Li Qian. But wouldnt that cause greater…
Li Qun's attempt on Mingyue's life is not to get at Li Qian but to prevent her from helping revive Qian's lost memory as he's aware of her secret abiilty... And all attempts were by assasins. Qun could always deny any royal involvement.
As much as I love Allen Fang, this is one confusing drama. Its almost like it switch genre midway...
i came here for Alen Fang after "The Love by Hynoptic" but disappointed to find im being 2nd ML and got k..... With all the negative comments plus getting no vibe from ML/FL in the finale, i'd not start with Ep 1.
I'm at episode 28....and i kinda feel bored. At this point I'm really struggling to finish it.Also i feel so bad…
i came here for Alen Fang after "The Love by Hynoptic" but found he's only a 2nd ML. Watched the finale but didn't feel the vibe from ML/FL. After reading all the comments, will drop this.
If you like the second ML, have you caught "The Love By Hynoptic" ?

But you're right in that Asian drama titles are at most times translated inappropriately...
