nay, the original HK version of Duke is handsome (Tony Leung) and that's why so many women fell for him in that series... The ML here doesn't look good in period dramas while his acting method seems forced and unnatural making him looked ugly instead of comical or silly...

Yes, agree this is a low production. Don't think the class of casts are A-listers...

Totally agreed in low cost producers shouldn't attempt such famed projects...

maybe because ALen Fang's character Liu Xiuwen is supposedly to be internally poisoned and needed antidote from the masked man... XD

wanted to watch this because of Alen Fang's listed in the cast. Sorry, but after watching all 36 of Love by Hynoptic, the ML/FL in this Unique Lady has no appeal at all... Both leads looked really stiff together. Didn't feel any vibes unlike LBH...

Hey fans of AF & LMS, any idea if these two are real life couple? Cos it's really really unusual for period Cdramas to have so many real passionate kissing scenes in all 16 episodes from 19/20. And it's not only one kissing shot per episode! It's dual and triple take in most epis!!! Actually, it's many times more than a modern Cdrama

since it's only a 8-parter, i'll revisit when i've nothing else in hand :)

yup, it's like kissing in every epi from 19/20 onwards to finale. Also, it's not just a peck or a 30 sec swipe of lips but really all round lip/mouth movement lasting over 1 min each time!!!

Alen must have hell lot of good kissing practice from this drama! Hopefully both are willing parties to the director's instruction

oh, why do you not like them?! Alen Fang's acting is so much better than the ML in General Lady. And Alen looks good in period drama... Initially, though i didn't dislike Ling MeiSi, i wasn't attracted to her. But after a few epis, i kinda like her and more. She's good acting out her role. Can't wait to get onto 18!
