LOL this beats all others to claim 2023 Top Chinese Costume Dramas (according to Marcus) with Douban rating of 8.6, and even winning over Marvelous Lotus Casebook!!! This is even listed by AvenueX as one of the best period drama for 2023.

think this drama earns the title of having the most kissing scenes in 2023. First light kiss scene comes on midway in ep.19 and that ep ends off with a real kiss (but short one). After the 3rd kiss happening midway in Ep. 20, there's no holding back...

Don't think Zhou Ye and Tan Jianci have ever kissed any other costars that many times for a love drama, at least not in 2023!!! Correct me please if i'm wrong

i'm with you on this. In fact, i actually took a long break from ep. 24 to resume watching... After the finale is aired, for the first time in my years of drama watching, i didn't even bother to take a peek into ep.33 or resume picking up from 25 until today. Why the drop in interest? Don't know.
