Xiao Zhan’s currently filming drama is “A Small Town Remedy.” Its production team is Linmon. And the production team for “Ten Days Ultimatum” is also Linmon. At the opening ceremony of “A Small Town Remedy” the production team admitted that Xiao Zhan was the FIRST and ONLY choice for Dr. Liu. They admitted that they handed Xiao Zhan the script for the drama sometime during winter 2024. Throughout all of 2025 b4 Xiao Zhan was announced other well known actors were licking the role claiming they were being considered for the part. That turned out to be completely false. The same thing happened with “Ten Days Ultimatum.”

If these were false, Xiao Zhan and Tencent would have denied already especially with this many hot searches. I’m guessing they’re waiting for Xiao Zhan to finish filming Small Town Remedy to officially announce. I’m really looking forward to it. 😍

All yxh are posting that a source (who many believe comes from Tencent) says that “Ten Days Ultimatum has always been exclusively for Xiao Zhan and he’s been locked in with the project from beginnning to end.” So as I suspected, all the other actors who have sent drafts of playing the lead character have been licking the project but it has always belonged to Xiao Zhan.
According to the latest melons, Xiao Zhan should start filming for Ten Days in March/April of this year. Let’s look forward to it. 😍

Ah. June was the first time I’ve heard of this drama. I didn’t realize Tencent had already announced it since February. The drama scripts Xiao Zhan gets are always kept under wraps. He was given the script for his currently filming medical drama last year around August but fans weren’t aware of it until just a couple months ago when rumors started circulating. Xiao Zhan’s last drama with Tencent was The Youth Memories which he filmed years ago. Tencent has been trying to get him to sign a drama with them for years. So who knows how long they’ve been trying to get him to say yes to Ten Days. I read they’ve also sent him the script to The 3 Body drama. My guess is that the reasons Tencent sent the hot search of XZ being rumored for 10 days is either because they believe he will take the role or they want hype for investment. Anyway, if the drama is for XZ we won’t know until he’s done filming his current drama.

It's funny to read all the amazing reviews and deep layer analysis for the final episodes on Chinese social media then come here and see people misunderstand so much & critique every little detail or act like they're far more intelligent than the scriptwriter. The story held from beginning to end. And was kept at a high level the entire time. I am very satisfied.

Because they didn't want Zang Hai to find out who the 3rd villain was. They couldn't risk exposing him. Even when ZH confronted Duke PJ, he didn't reveal who he was. It can be inferred that they made a pact to get the seal. And if one died, the other would take over. ZH manipulated Duke PJ and Eunuch Cao to think they betrayed each other. But he wasn't able to do that with the 3rd guy so they both remained loyal to him.

There's symbolism in the final scene. It's a clear mirror of ZH's arrival to the capital. So, my comment is from my interpretation of that scene.

I have to applaud the script writer. It's not easy to captivate the audience and to maintain the same level of greatness until the end and he did it. I want to talk about the ending so beware of spoilers ahead:






The main subject matter of the drama isn't just revenge, it's also feudalism. The story takes place in a society where the powerful will always rule over the defenseless and the weak. The 3rd villain was the scariest of them all. He ruined Duke Ping Jin and Eunuch Cao for his own personal gains. He used Zang Hai from the very beginning and in the end, he died by his own sword manipulated with half-truths. He is the ultimate villain. The Great Yong is now ruled by a cruel emperor. A cruel emperor he put in place. I like that there's no idealistic ending. There's a new emperor that's crueler than the one before, a new Marquis that is smarter and colder than the one before, and a new "Zang Hai" (who some speculate could be the son of the beheaded general ZhiXing killed) who has arrived to take revenge. And a "missing seal." Everything went full circle.

Now I have one question. Will the story repeat itself?
