Keep in mind the drama is named after the male lead. It will revolve around Zang Hai. However, the fl is not there as a romantic plot device. She will kick ass and have her own storyline.

Just watch the first couple episodes and decide whether you want to continue or not. lol.

I’m not sure about other times cause this is my first time watching a Youku drama. But Youku said the system had a large influx of traffic for this drama which caused it to lag. So I’m guessing it’s catching up now.

Since I’ve seen some comments about this subject, my opinion is that Zang Hai isn’t supposed to be ruthless and vengeful and perfect from the beginning of his journey. He’s supposed to make mistakes and learn from them. I think an issue with previous revenge dramas is that the lead is ruthless from the get go and there’s not much character development. Zang Hai will differ from all the others in this way. Personally, I love this approach. I think it would be boring to make him perfect. I’m looking forward to his failures and his successes.

I love the attention to detail in this drama. I was left wondering why his masters didn’t want to teach Zang Hai martial arts. Come to find out it’s so he can get close to the Marquis who is an untrustworthy man. And wouldn’t allow some strong martial artist to get close.

No. His character uses his wits to get himself out of sticky situations.

I’ve watched every Xiao Zhan drama. And they’re all completely different from each other.
My personal favorites (in no particular order) are Sunshine By My Side, The Youth Memories, Douluo Continent, and The Longest Promise.
SBMS and TYM are modern dramas while DC and TLP are costume dramas. If you’re looking for one full of romance try The Oath of Love.

I’m watching this drama on Netflix and the cinematography and cgi is so gorgeous. The acting is so good. And Shi Ying is so handsome. 🥰

I came back to watch this masterpiece after seeing the absolute flop that is season 2. All the haters that complained about DC are now apologizing for hating on a popular work. Especially after the disaster that is tlow. 😆

I agree. I’m seeing hundreds of comments with tens of thousands of likes on Douyin and xhs and Weibo critiquing TLOW. Barely anyone is watching it and those that started watching are quickly dropping it and going back to DC. I can’t believe Tencent fumbled TLOW this badly. 😬

Well im glad some ifans like TLOW even if it’s a small percentage. It’s too bad netizens see it as a horrible adaptation. I’m just glad everyone is running to see DC because of it. 🥰

Thank you Land of Warriors for being so terrible you made me remember how good Douluo Continent is. Netizens are dragging this so bad on social media. Such a downgrade from season 1. Looks like Tencent failed to pull in the ip’s loyal fanbase. 😬

Xiao Zhan doesn’t want to return though. JOL means nothing for his career. Joining JOL2 would be a waste of his time.
